Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is looking for a talented Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team at our Moon Township Corporate Office. In this highly visible role, you will play a vital part in supporting our employees and organizational success by overseeing benefits and retirement programs while contributing to key HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
As our next HR Generalist, you will oversee the day-to-day administration of health, wellness, and 401(k) plans while also supporting employee relations, leave administration, HR compliance, policy implementation, recruitment, onboarding, and other HR operations.

Your Role in Supporting Our People
- Administers health, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefit, wellness, and 401(k) programs.
- Partners with benefits and retirement plan vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues, coordinate plan changes, and maintain high-quality service.
- Manages 401(k) enrollments, contribution changes, eligibility tracking, vendor coordination, compliance activities, and employee education.
- Coordinates open enrollment, monitor benefits eligibility and changes, and administer FMLA, disability, and workers’ compensation processes.
- Supports annual benefits benchmarking, renewals, plan evaluations, and recommendations that promote competitive and cost-effective offerings.
- Serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding benefits, retirement plans, HR policies, and employment-related questions.
- Ensures compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Reconciles benefit invoices, retirement plan contributions, and related records for accuracy.
- Coordinates wellness initiatives that promote health, well-being, and preventive care.
- Supports recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, interview coordination, and new hire orientation.
- Maintains HR records, employee files, HRIS data, reports, workforce metrics, and compliance documentation.
- Assists with employee relations, performance management, investigations, corrective actions, policy administration, engagement, recognition, and retention efforts.
- Participates in HR projects, process improvements, required GRC training, and other Human Resources initiatives.
What Should You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, payroll, or a related HR role.
- Hands-on experience with benefits administration, 401(k) retirement plan administration, HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
- Working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, employment laws, leave administration, workers’ compensation, employee relations, and HR practices.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, accuracy, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, benefits administration, and retirement plans.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive employee and financial information, manage multiple priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
What Qualifications Are Preferred
- Experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-site environment.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or CEBS certification—or willingness to obtain a professional certification within two years of hire.
