Under the direction of the Family & Community Partnership Manager, the Admissions Assistant responsibilities include supporting eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment and attendance for Head Start and Early Head Start children and families in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Financial Assistance Program, and public Pre-K Partner requirements. Works with administrative support staff, family service staff, families, and community agencies.
1.0 RECRUITMENT AND INTAKE:
Assists with the implementation of the program’s recruitment plan, including but not limited to: attending community events, distributing fliers and brochures, meeting with income-eligible families and collaborating with community agencies that serve eligible populations. Participates in the registration process; follows-up on incomplete documentation.
2.0 RECORD KEEPING:
Assess, document, evaluate and track applications and enrollment outcomes. Utilize data to implement meaningful programming.
Document and track referrals, demographic information and other data as required for Program Information Reporting.
Document and track families eligible for Child Care Financial Assistance, certificates due for renewal and submission of required documents. Coordinates with family service, administrative and Child Care Financial Assistance staff and families to ensure that required documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
Document and track families eligible for SVSU Pre-K Program for initial and renewal and submission of required documents. Coordinates with family service, administrative, Pre-K, and Child Care Financial Assistance staff and families to ensure that required documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
Documents all contacts with family in a timely, objective and orderly fashion. Maintains records for each family enrolled as required by federal and state regulations. Keeps record of every contact with parents of each child.
3.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE:
Carries out responsibilities with timely responsiveness, high accuracy, and high attention to detail to ensure the quality of the application product, its data and its usefulness to agency and users. Must be skilled in following precise instructions and meeting deadlines and must possess abilities to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum, HS Diploma with Microsoft office, administrative experience, 1 year.
- Preferred, Associates Bachelor’s degree in field related to social, human or family service, and/ or one year of continuous experience in a human service agency.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to serve as a productive team member on an intra-disciplinary team of professionals
