2nd Shift Shipping Associate
Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Put away QC-approved finished goods into designated warehouse locations.
  • Consolidate inventory and downsize locations where applicable.
  • Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methodology.
  • Transfer materials within the system as required (including to FG TRANS or staging locations).
  • Receive inbound finished goods and verify counts.
  • Run and review pull sheets for daily shipments.
  • Accurately pick parts according to pull sheets, scanner verification, and customer requirements.
  • Use handheld scanners to verify part numbers, quantities, and system transfers.
  • Correctly complete pull sheets including confirmed piece counts, container type, and weight when required.
  • Ensure all system transactions are completed accurately and in real time.
  • Package parts per customer specifications to ensure protection during shipment.
  • Label containers with appropriate part numbers and shipping information.
  • Track and record container counts as required.
  • Pre-pack upcoming shipments in accordance with shipping schedules.
  • When pre-packing, ensure parts are transferred in the system to the appropriate TRANS or staging location.
  • Stage materials in designated shipping lanes — do not leave product in general stock areas.
  • Stage completed shipments in the designated TRANS or shipping area for audit.
  • Review all paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform dock audits prior to loading trucks to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with customer-specific shipping requirements, including CAT and Kanban programs.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Complete daily forklift pre-use inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards).
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the warehouse and shipping processes.
Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, or shipping experience preferred.
  • Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of inventory control and warehouse processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret pull sheets, part numbers, and shipping documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to operate barcode scanning equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conform to all Wayne Metals, LLC environmental policies, programs and procedures.
  • Conform to all State of Indiana laws and regulations.
  • Report any environmental concerns to supervisor, Environmental Management Representative, or the Plant manager.
