Inside Sales Representative
Description

The Inside Sales Representative supports equipment sales and rental activities by 

responding to customer needs, sourcing equipment and attachments, preparing and 

coordinating quotes, and facilitating the sales and rental process. This position partners 

closely with Account Managers to ensure CRM opportunities and quotes are complete 

and accurate, equipment and attachments are sourced, logistics are coordinated, and 

required agreements are processed. The Inside Sales Representative also supports 

lead development, customer follow-up, and market and competitive research to identify 

sales opportunities and improve customer responsiveness.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Minimal; up to 10%.


RESPONSIBILITIES: Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following

• Supports equipment sales and rental activities by responding to customer 

inquiries and identifying customer needs.

• Sources equipment and coordinates availability to support customer and sales 

team requirements.

• Prepares quotes and assists the sales team in providing timely and accurate 

responses to customers.

• Processes and manages sales and rental documentation and related 

transactions.

• Tracks equipment availability, including rental, used, and other available 

inventory.

• Supports established sales, rental, margin, and profitability goals.

• Develops and maintains an effective process for managing leads, prospects, and 

customer follow-up.

• Researches market and customer data to identify sales opportunities and 

conducts outbound prospecting and follow-up.

• Gathers and shares relevant market and competitive information with 

management and the sales team.

• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with customers, vendors, 

sales representatives, branch personnel, and corporate support teams.

• Serves as a primary inside sales contact for customers, including phone, 

electronic, and walk-in inquiries.

• Maintains accurate and timely customer, lead, quote, and sales activity 

information in applicable company systems.

• Provides a high level of customer service throughout the sales and rental 

process.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned within the scope of the 

position.

• Seeks and responds constructively to formal and informal performance feedback.

• Actively participates in required training and development programs and pursues 

additional development opportunities appropriate to the position.

• All other duties as assigned.


Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, 

Sales, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and 

relevant experience. Previous sales, customer service, or equipment industry 

experience is preferred but not required.

• Proficiency with computers and software applications required 

to perform the responsibilities of the position, including Microsoft Office 

applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to learn and 

effectively use company-specific systems and technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

• Regularly required to communicate verbally and hear in person, by telephone, 

and through other communication methods.

• Frequently required to sit and use a computer for extended periods.

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or reach.

• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

• May be required to safely operate a motor vehicle for business-related meetings, 

customer visits, or events.

• May occasionally be required to access, inspect, or move around equipment, 

which may involve bending, stooping, crouching, or similar movements.
