Description

Plateau is seeking a Database Administrator/Developer to support Microsoft SQL Server environments and data-driven applications. This role combines database administration and development responsibilities, including performance tuning, security, troubleshooting, deployments, automation, and data integration. The ideal candidate has strong SQL Server expertise, can independently resolve complex database issues, and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 


1. Administer, maintain, and support SQL Server database environments. 

2. Monitor database performance, availability, backups, and maintenance activities. 

3. Troubleshoot database, connectivity, and query performance issues. 

4. Develop, optimize, and support SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and scripts. 

5. Manage database security, permissions, auditing, and access controls. 

6. Support database deployments, schema changes, and production releases. 

7. Develop and maintain ETL, data migration, and integration solutions. 

8. Support Azure SQL Database and SQL Server workloads hosted in Azure. 

9. Automate recurring database administration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks. 

10. Maintain technical documentation and provide database guidance to development teams. 

Requirements

1. 5+ years of database administration and/or database development experience. 

2. Strong experience administering and developing Microsoft SQL Server databases. 

3. Experience with Azure SQL Database and SQL Server running on Azure Virtual Machines. 

4. Experience with backup and recovery, security administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. 

5. Experience with SSIS, Query Store, Extended Events, or comparable database monitoring tools. 

6. Familiarity with source control, deployment processes, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions. 

7. Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and relational database design principles.

8. Experience supporting database deployments, schema changes, and ETL processes. 

9. Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
