TriVector Services, Inc., is seeking qualified candidates to fill our Solution-Level Software System Engineer position.


The Solution-Level Software System Engineer will support the PAE Fires Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office and will work with contractors, US military, government civilians and system operators to develop system-level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve various systems from multiple product offices. These concepts define external interfaces, outline system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the IFMC Special Access Programs (SAP) Director to develop and manage concepts through the entire engineering lifecycle
  • Working as a member of the Solutions System Engineering Team in prioritizing capabilities to be worked in each Program Increment (PI).
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to better understand the scope of an Initiative/Capability.
  • Developing concepts utilizing a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach in an Agile SW workflow and environment.
  • Assembling Artifacts and other information into Solutions Initiative Documents (SIDs) as well as Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs) and refining Jira tickets as necessary.
  • Modeling Capability behavior (SV-1, SV-4) using the MagicDraw MBSE tool.
  • Creating/modifying existing behavior to include Functions and Data Exchanges/Signals.
  • Defining Acceptance Criteria for a Capability and tracing the Acceptance Criteria to behavior in the model.
  • Determining the current Capabilities Description Document (CDD) and System Spec requirements being satisfied by the capability and establishing those links in the model.
  • Recommending follow-up Feature tickets to be implemented at the Program Level.
  • Facilitating/Leading both Internal and Formal Reviews of an Initiative/Capability.
  • Adjudicating review comments and transitioning recommended Capabilities/Features to the backlog by drafting Capabilities/Features for implementation using Jira.
  • Participating in regularly scheduled team stand-ups as well as Team Planning, Retrospectives, and Prioritization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess and have the ability to maintain at least an active Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • The candidate must have 10 or more years of system engineering or related experience.
  • Must have prior experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Proficiency in MagicDraw is required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office toolset is required.
  • Must have prior experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interface with various levels of workers/leaders.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in systems engineering is highly desired.
  • Previous experience with the Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems, such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), Patriot, FAAD C2, and ADAM is preferred.
  • Previous experience with the integration of Command and Control Systems in a System of Systems architecture is desired.
