Position Overview

Gentuity is seeking an experienced, highly hands-on Corporate Controller to lead its accounting operations, financial reporting, manufacturing and cost accounting, and internal control processes. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will play a critical role in strengthening the company's financial infrastructure, supporting operational and commercial decision-making, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting to management and our financial partners,.[PM1.1]


The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with strong manufacturing experience, sound business judgment, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. This is a highly visible role requiring an individual who takes ownership, performs detailed accounting work independently, and builds scalable processes in a dynamic, growing medical device company.


Key Responsibilities


Accounting Operations & Financial Close

• Own and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Maintain full ownership of the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, reconciliations, and related accounting activities.

• Personally perform detailed accounting work as needed while overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections.

• Ensure appropriate accounting for revenue, expenses, reserves, cost center allocations, and expense classification.

• Record and reconcile payroll-related entries using approved summary-level information, maintaining confidentiality and segregation of duties.

• Establish effective accounting policies and procedures and support the transition of accounting activities from external providers to internal resources.

Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

• Own the preparation and timely submission of complete monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to Nipro, including supporting schedules, reconciliations, and consolidation-related information, in accordance with strict reporting deadlines.

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable group reporting requirements.

• Research complex accounting matters, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and other relevant standards, and prepare supporting technical accounting memoranda.

• Review significant commercial agreements and contracts to assess accounting implications, including revenue recognition, returns, warranties, and reserves.

• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and related reporting requirements.

• Partner with FP&A on management reporting, taking ownership of financial actuals, accounting accuracy, and related explanations.

• Communicate directly with financial partners, and other relevant business partners on financial and accounting matters.



Manufacturing, Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Lead manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting activities, including accurate COGS reporting and related financial controls.

• Maintain standard costing methodologies, including annual updates and ongoing cost accuracy.

• Partner with FP&A, Operations, and R&D on new product costing, standard cost development, cost analysis, and product cost improvement initiatives, while maintaining ownership of cost accounting accuracy and controls.

• Analyze manufacturing variances, including purchase price variances, overhead absorption, scrap, and yield, and partner with Operations and FP&A to identify cost reduction and margin improvement opportunities.

• Ensure accurate inventory valuation, reconciliations, and appropriate reserves for excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.

• Oversee the accounting aspects of physical inventory counts, inventory movements, and related reconciliations and controls.

• Ensure the integrity of inventory and accounting data across relevant systems, including Fishbowl and the general ledger, working closely with Operations.


Treasury, Tax, Audit & Internal Controls

• Oversee day-to-day cash management, bank reconciliations, payment scheduling, and related controls, with final payment authorization retained by the CFO.

• Support working capital management through accurate accounting information and visibility into receivables, payables, and inventory.

• Lead the annual financial statement audit and coordinate with external auditors and advisors.

• Coordinate income tax, sales and use tax, and other applicable tax compliance activities with external specialists.

• Develop and maintain effective internal controls, identify financial and compliance risks, and implement practical improvements.


Systems, Automation & Process Improvement

• Proactively identify, design, and implement practical automation and AI-enabled solutions to streamline accounting workflows, improve accuracy, and reduce manual processes.

• Serve as a key accounting partner in ERP implementations, system integrations, and finance transformation initiatives.

• Improve financial systems and workflows, including QuickBooks Online, Fishbowl, Bill.com, and related platforms, while developing scalable processes to support growth.


Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Lead and develop a lean accounting team while maintaining direct, hands-on involvement in accounting activities.

• Work closely with the CFO on accounting, financial reporting, operational priorities, and key business initiatives.

• Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Commercial, and R&D to strengthen financial discipline and business performance.

• Support cross-functional planning, including S&OP, by providing inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing insights.

• Communicate financial results, accounting issues, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.

• Independently prioritize competing demands, exercise sound judgment, and deliver results under demanding deadlines

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial responsibility for financial close, reporting, and general ledger operations.

• Strong hands-on manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory, standard costing, COGS, and manufacturing variance analysis.

• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including experience applying accounting standards to complex transactions.

• Experience preparing financial statements and reporting packages under strict deadlines.

• Demonstrated ability to independently execute detailed accounting activities, not solely supervise them.

• Experience managing audits, internal controls, and cross-functional accounting processes.

• Advanced Excel proficiency, strong financial systems capabilities, and excellent communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently under pressure, and interact effectively with senior management and international stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation.

• Experience in the medical device or broader medical technology industry.

• Experience reporting to a publicly traded parent company or operating within an international corporate group.

• Hands-on experience with Fishbowl inventory management software.

• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.

• Experience supporting ERP implementations and accounting system integrations.

• Demonstrated success implementing automation, AI-enabled workflows, or other technology-driven improvements.
