Job Summary:

The FP&A Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, developing forecasts and budgets, and providing insightful reports to management. Working with the Sr. FP&A Analyst, this role supports the financial planning process, monitors performance against targets, and identifies opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

FP&A Analyst Compensation (Full Time):

  • Annual Salary $60,000-$70,000

FP&A Analyst Responsibilities:


Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Analyze historical financial data to identify trends and variances.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather input for forecasts and budgets.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including variance analysis and performance dashboards.
  • Analyze actual financial results against budget and forecast, and provide explanations for variances.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reports to track performance.
  • Create ad-hoc financial analyses to support business decisions.

Business Partnering

  • Partner with various departments to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Assist in the development of business cases for new initiatives and investments.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation of new financial systems and tools.
  • Document and maintain financial policies and procedures.

Data Management

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Utilize financial systems and tools to extract and analyze data.
  • Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets for financial analysis.

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Stay up to date with new accounting and financial practices.

FP&A Analyst Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, or a related field preferred. Relevant internships and academic experience will be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and present financial data accurately and effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms is a plus.
