General Responsibilities:
• Recruit, interview, and orient youth participants ages 12 – 24 for PA CareerLink
• Assess older youth needs, goals, and capabilities and refer to resource best equipped to provide support and assistance
• Provide a seamless transition into the adult system within PA CareerLink
• Assist with the coordination of PA CareerLink services and activities
• Provide individualized counseling and support to help youth prepare for employment and educational attainment, including assistance obtaining required employment documentation, such as youth work permits
• Provide case management to youth that are not connected to a youth program or WIOA registered and follow up services to support employment and training retention
• Assist participants in developing a Work Readiness Portfolio that includes a resume, sample application, cover letter, thank you letter, reference sheet (professional/personal), and a mock interview evaluation form
• Provide career exploration guidance using applicable assessment tools
• Collaborate with Job Development staff to connect customers with employment opportunities, supporting successful job placements
• Provide outreach to schools and youth programs at their sites to promote PA CareerLink services
• Facilitate workshops and presentations to groups
• Coordinate with providers and potential providers of services to ensure seamless service access/delivery and act as single point of contact for PA CareerLink as it relates to youth services; facilitate conversations with stakeholders regarding best coordination of services
• Maintain accurate and timely case file records as required and prepare narrative and outcome reports
• Report on participant progress and enter detailed case notes into the Commonwealth Workforce Development System
• Coordinate and oversee on-site youth programming, including participant supervision and coordination and tracking of community service hours
• Collaborate with program staff to help prepare older youth for their post-program plan(s)
• Participate in various youth workforce provider convenings, conversations, and learning communities
• Standard working hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, fully in person, with occasional evenings and weekends required for events
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in related field with 2-4 years of experience working with older youth or Associate degree in related field with 4-6 years of experience working with older youth
· Knowledge of best practices and youth workforce development services within the Philadelphia region; sound knowledge of Philadelphia area and city agencies/systems
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in preparing and facilitating workshops and training sessions
· Data-driven and highly organized, with ability to track program outcomes
· Effective communication skills with youth 12 through 24 years of age and their families
· Experienced computer user with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
· Strong interpersonal, relationship-management, and customer service skills; commitment to trauma-informed principles as a foundation of service
· Bilingual-English/Spanish required
