What You’ll Do
As a Clubhouse Program Leader, you will own the day-to-day operations and programming of your assigned department, serving as a key mentor and role model for young people. You will design and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities while ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for groups of youth. This position plays a critical developmental role in shaping youth outcomes while serving as a stepping stone toward future leadership opportunities within BGCSF.
- Provide Supervision & Safety — Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth participants during all Clubhouse activities and field trips.
- Facilitate Programs — Create and lead engaging after-school programs and daily activities for groups of approximately 10 youth.
- Develop Lesson Plans — Design age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum that promote personal growth, educational achievement, and character development.
- Mentor Youth — Serve as a positive role model to young participants, utilizing positive discipline strategies to manage behavior and foster self-esteem.
- Cultivate Club Environment — Set clear expectations and establish program standards rooted in mutual respect between staff, members, and the community.
- Collaborate with Team — Work alongside junior-level colleagues and department staff to align on program goals, maintain operational systems, and share best practices.
What You Bring
Required
- 2+ years of youth development experience working with youth ages 6–18 in a youth development setting, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and implement curriculum
- Demonstrated positive disciplinary and behavior management skills with the ability to maintain high expectations in a youth-centered environment
- Proven communication, organizational, and self-starter abilities
- Strong capacity to establish and follow systems, procedures, and routine operations in a fast-paced environment with continual distractions
Preferred
- Education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, or a related field
- Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment)
- Proven leadership or formal mentorship experience
- Bilingual proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
- Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation
The wage range for this position is $24.00–$25.00 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range, depending on qualifications and position requirements.
Pre-Employment Requirements
As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
