JOB SUMMARY
Provide ongoing technical and accounting support to the Fiscal Department and the CFO.
WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
- This is a full-time position 35-40 hours per week.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Finance/Accounting preferred or AA in Finance/Accounting with related experience
- Knowledge of non-profit human services accounting, particularly grant management preferred
- Knowledge of technical accounting functions; payroll, accounting systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, particularly Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting functions.
- Knowledge of office machinery such as personal computers, copiers, calculators
- Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills
- Organizational skills; ability to prioritize
- Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations
- Complete all required background checks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare all required fiscal reports and supporting documentation on a timely basis based on the terms of each grant, agreement, or contract.
- Maintain files of all reports and back-up material for audit and administrative review.
- Compare Grant Budget vs. Actual reports to ensure all grants have been billed for the month and revenue/ expense seem reasonable.
- Other duties as assigned
Specific Accounting Functions
- Utilize computer for recording all journal transactions
- Learns program billing procedures
- Assists in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports to funding sources
- Records Payroll costs, Health costs, HRA, Accrued payroll, Accounts Receivable, Monthly/Weekly deposits in g/l
- Completes special projects as needed
- Cross trained in accounts payable and other fiscal functions as needed
- Assist Bookkeeper with Deposits and Accounts Payable as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Departmental / Main Office Functions
- Ensures all deadlines are met in processing all assigned accounting duties
- Ensures accuracy of records
- Communicates well with supervisor and colleagues regarding workflow, prioritizing of time, and related suggestions and/or problems that may arise
- Participates in Financial Department meetings
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues across all departments
