 Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown is seeking a dependable, motivated, and skilled Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing quality meals, providing exceptional guest experiences, and working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
  • Assist with inventory management, food storage, and stock rotation.
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary and Food & Beverage teams to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Accommodate guest dietary restrictions and special requests following established procedures.
  • Properly operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Complete assigned opening, closing, and daily kitchen duties.

Requirements

 Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to prepare meals according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining professional standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Culinary certification or relevant culinary training preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with working in a commercial kitchen.
  • Ability to follow company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous hotel kitchen experience.
  • Experience preparing breakfast and dinner menu items.
  • Familiarity with food inventory procedures and proper stock rotation.
  • Experience accommodating special dietary requests and food allergies.
Salary Description
$19.00 per Hour
