Description
This hands-on role will help keep our digital presence accurate and up to date, support social media and content development, conduct competitive and industry research, and assist with restaurant-level marketing needs. The ideal candidate is curious, organized, resourceful, and excited to learn, with a strong interest in hospitality, marketing, social media, and emerging technology.
This position is based full-time in our corporate office located at 9200 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Digital + Website
- Conduct regular audits of all brand and restaurant websites to ensure hours, menus, reservation links, contact information, private dining details, photography, and copy are accurate and up to date.
- Audit Google Business Profiles for accuracy, including hours, categories, links, photos, menus, and other key business information.
- Ensure restaurant names and business information are consistent across Google, Apple Maps, Yelp, Tripadvisor, and other relevant platforms.
- Conduct regular Yelp and Tripadvisor audits to identify inaccurate information, outdated imagery, or other content requiring updates.
- Test SevenRooms reservation links across websites, social media, Google, and other customer-facing channels to ensure links are active and functioning properly.
- Review the mobile experience across all websites and flag formatting, functionality, or content issues.
- Set up and maintain enterprise Canva accounts across locations and provide basic training and support to GMs as needed.
- Audit restaurant menus across digital channels to ensure they accurately match current approved menu PDFs.
- Audit email signup forms across all websites to ensure they are functioning properly and capturing customer information as intended.
Social Media
- Conduct regular social media audits to ensure account information, links, contact details, and other profile information are accurate and up to date.
- Monitor Instagram and TikTok for trending sounds, formats, and content opportunities relevant to BOA, Sushi Roku, Katana, and other IDG brands.
- Identify and organize relevant user-generated content, including screenshots and creator handles, for potential reposting by individual restaurant locations.
- Research emerging restaurant content trends and formats and present 5–10 relevant content ideas each week.
Restaurant + Operations Marketing
- Maintain an accurate inventory of restaurant uniforms, including updating tracking spreadsheets and organizing uniform storage areas.
- Develop and maintain a master reference of restaurant hours, happy hours, brunch and lunch offerings, private dining capacities, parking and valet information, and other key guest-facing details.
- Assist Marketing Manager with planning, production, organization, and coordination of the Holiday Cookbook.
- Support restaurant-level marketing needs and projects as assigned, helping ensure brand standards and marketing materials are consistently executed across locations.
Competitive Research + Industry Trends
- Conduct ongoing competitive research using Bluenote and other relevant sources to identify trends and opportunities across the restaurant and hospitality industry.
- Monitor competitors and relevant brands for new restaurant openings, launches, collaborations, events, promotions, partnerships, and creative marketing initiatives.
- Prepare a weekly Friday recap highlighting the most relevant trends, ideas, and competitive activity for the marketing team.
Technology + AI
- Research emerging marketing technology, AI tools, platforms, and resources that could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Marketing department.
- Assist in auditing recurring marketing tasks and workflows to identify redundancies, opportunities for automation, and areas where AI can improve efficiency.
- Research and recommend AI tools that can support creative production, reporting, PR and copywriting, content development, and project management.
- Help establish and maintain approved AI tools, prompts, standard operating procedures, and training resources for the Marketing department.
- Evaluate tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Munch, and other emerging platforms for potential use in marketing campaigns, content creation, reporting, and workflow automation.
- Assist Marketing Manager in improving visibility and organization of social media content planning and execution at the restaurant level.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1–2 years of marketing, communications, social media, or related experience preferred; internships and relevant college experience welcome.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interest in hospitality, restaurants, social media, and digital marketing.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new technology and digital platforms; Canva experience preferred.
- Creative, curious, and proactive, with a willingness to learn and bring new ideas to the team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel to IDG restaurants and support projects in the field as needed.
Salary Description
$28 - $30 per hour
