KONG Company is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role tracks expenditures against budget, monitors general ledger account performance, and reconciles variances, while leading budgeting, P&L and cash flow forecasting, and financial modeling efforts that deliver actionable insights to business leaders. The Senior Financial Analyst conducts financial research, analyzes performance against objectives, identifies emerging trends, and partners closely with the accounting department, including support for month-end and quarter-end close.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, monthly and/or quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans in partnership with the VP of Finance and other department leaders.
- Track expenditures against budget, monitor general ledger account performance versus budget, and reconcile variances.
- Analyze monthly financial results, identifying key drivers of variance versus budget and forecast, and communicate findings to leadership.
- Conduct financial research, analyze financial performance against objectives, and determine emerging financial trends.
- Build and maintain monthly cash flow reporting and create a 12-month rolling cash flow forecast.
- Build and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, capital investment decisions, pricing analysis, and new business opportunities.
- Provide customized financial analyses for internal customers on operational projects, supporting the development of business plans and new business ventures.
- Perform business decision support including budget and forecast analysis, ROI analysis, and supply chain/logistics and inventory management analysis.
- Evaluate corporate costs and identify cost-savings opportunities; provide insight on product performance and trending.
- Partner with business unit leaders to provide financial insight that informs operational and strategic decisions.
- Develop and enhance management reporting packages, dashboards, and KPIs to improve visibility into business performance.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including account analysis and management reporting.
- Prepare presentations and materials for executive leadership and board-level reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, corporate accounting, or a related discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Hyperion, or similar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and corporate finance fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills, with the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal partners, vendors, suppliers, and customers; strong customer service orientation.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and process- and metrics-driven, with a strong sense of personal accountability.
- Ability to identify errors and issues and recommend process improvements or corrective action.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or relevant advanced degree.
- CFA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Retail and/or wholesale sales, marketing, merchandising, or planning experience.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
