Role: Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Reports to: Regional Director of Sales
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Location: Raleigh, NC
Why is this role important at Genesee Scientific?
The Sales Development Representative plays a critical role in developing and expanding relationships with existing customers and re-engaging inactive accounts. This role focuses on account growth, retention, and long-term customer success, working closely with Account Managers and Sales Leadership to drive sustained revenue. Success in this role requires consistent daily activity, and disciplined use of Salesforce to document and advance a qualified pipeline.
What will you do:
- Own and manage an assigned book of existing and inactive customer accounts
- Proactively engage prospects and customers through outbound calls, emails, and strategic outreach to identify, qualify, and schedule meetings for Account Managers
- Re-engage dormant accounts and identify opportunities to restore and grow spend
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity targets: a minimum of 85 daily activities with at least 50% completed as outbound phone calls
- Schedule qualified meetings with prospects using the TIPS framework (Territory fit, confirmed Intent, Purchase authority visible, Solution alignment) and document all criteria in Salesforce prior to the meeting
- Complete a pre-meeting brief in Salesforce for every scheduled meeting, including TIPS confirmation, prospect's identified need, decision maker name and title, estimated spend, timeline signal, and outreach attribution
- Achieve monthly meeting targets: 20 held meetings and 17 converted (quoted) meetings per month
- Educate customers on Genesee's products, services, promotions, and value proposition
- Drive incremental revenue by engaging in discovery conversations and gaining customer commitment to participate in a future meeting with their assigned Account Manager
- Partner with Account Managers to strategize on key institutional and commercial targets
- Use Salesforce and company-approved equipment and systems to track all customer interactions, pipeline, and opportunities in real time
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Marketing to deliver a seamless customer experience
- Continue developing advanced sales skills and life science market knowledge through coaching and training
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, account support, customer development, or customer-facing roles, experience in Life Sciences a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently by phone — a significant portion of daily activity involves outbound calling
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities with consistency and follow-through
- Results oriented, strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or CRM systems required
- Ability to thrive in a structured, activity-driven environment and hold yourself accountable to daily and weekly goals

Work Environment and Schedule:
- This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday
Physical Requirements:
Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Primarily sedentary work on a computer in a climate-controlled office environment
- Regularly sit for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of up to 25 pounds
- The role may have limited and periodic overnight travel, i.e. trade shows, sales meetings, etc.

Base salary $56,000.00 + commission – OTE $85,000.00
