Job Summary
The Development Support Specialist works under the direct supervision of Development Director and is
committed to developing meaningful relationships with families and stakeholders for the success of the YWCA
Rock County. This position will support the execution of YWCA development, communications and fundraising
strategy; planning and execution of events; aiding relationships with donors and volunteers; in an effort to raise
the profile of the YWCA in the community.
Major Responsibilities
- Assist and support the work of the Development Director. (Grants, Individual Donors, Foundations, Corporations, Donor Engagement and Annual Campaign, Program Data and Evaluation). For example, Coordinate, track and document donor relationship progress from ask to gift and gratitude. Follow-up with donors as directed. Update and maintain donor management (CRM) software. Assist with grant funding proposals.
- Assist and support the Director of Marketing and Corporate Giving as directed by the Development Director. (Events and Corporate Giving: The Director of Development collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Corporate Giving in stewarding & developing corporate relationships and in planning and developing Giving Tuesday and any online donor campaign including the Annual Giving Campaign). For example, Assist with all stages of YWCA events, from planning to implementation and analysis. Including reservations, payments, seating charts, maintain decorations and supplies, preparation and distribution of marketing materials, event set-up, and clean-up. Maintain relationships with venues and ensure events meet planning requirements
- Annual Giving Campaign and Donor Base Management: Develop the Annual Donor Campaign and partner with the Director of Marketing and Corporate Giving to communicate effectively with all donors at every level.
- Manage volunteer projects and data entry into our Volunteer Data Base System.
- Track and maintain documentation for Development project budgets as directed.
- Attend meetings, administratively assist with agendas and minutes as directed.
- Collaborate with all departments in a professional manner in alignment with organizational values.

Hours
40 hours per week, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
Compensation
NON-EXEMPT, 1.0 FTE. Hourly plus Full Time Benefits

- Two or more years of work experience and/or relevant educational background in event planning, fundraising, or administrative support for non-profit organizations.
- Strong writing and ability to handle multiple projects with varying timelines and priority levels.
- Experience with donor management (CRM) software and strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented with good communication, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Dependable and flexible. Ability to be productive in high-demand position.
- Team approach with staff, volunteers and community partners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations.
- Good judgement when making decisions. Able to make collaborative decisions for the good of the YWCA.
