Position: Senior Installation Mechanic
Role
The Senior Installation Crew Mechanic has broad responsibilities, and thus is a key member of the Conair Team and a critical part of all phases of new projects. The Senior Installation Crew Mechanic is responsible for working on a traveling installation team. This position reports to the Installation Manager located in Franklin, PA and traveling within the Continental USA.
Key Responsibilities
- Works on a traveling installation team, taking direction from the site-based Installation Crew Chief as well as assisting the crew chief in their duties as needed.
- Travel by truck or by airplane to customer sites to install Conair equipment. Typical deployments are targeted for 10 days on, 4 days off, but may vary widely due to job demands.
- If not deployed on installation jobs, perform a variety of tasks in the Conair Franklin factory.
- Work safely; wear proper safety equipment, understand safe work practices, and refuse to do any work in an unsafe manner.
- Prepare and submit expense reports.
- Help the crew chief prepare returned hardware & equipment for return to Conair and vendors
- Other duties as assigned which may include assuming secondary crew chief duties of work.
- Valid driver’s license; meets requirements to drive company vehicles, including pickup trucks pulling a work trailer; must be able to pass a DOT medical examination or hold a current DOT medical card
- Ability to take and pass requirements to drive Forklifts, Scissors Lifts, Boom Lifts and other equipment as needed to perform system installations
- Ability to take and pass OSHA 10-hour construction course, or other Conair or customer dictated safety courses, then to work safely using proper guidelines
- Proficient in the use of hand tools
- At least two years of experience with pneumatic conveying piping, structures such as silos, mezzanines and pipe bridges as well as low voltage control wiring
- Fundamental understanding of Conair plastics auxiliary equipment, and the installation of this equipment.
- Able to analyze flow diagrams, ISO drawings and factory layout drawings and conceptualize optimum piping and wiring runs
- Leadership experience or desire to lead others.
- Must be able to do physical installation work, for 8-12 hours per day, including at typical factory or silo elevations up to 100 feet
- Must be detail-oriented and precise
- Must provide efficient, high-quality customer service
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
