Early Childhood Interventionist

Pediatric & Adult Therapy Services, Inc. is seeking an Early Childhood Interventionist to support children from birth until their third birthday and their families. This position helps families support their child’s development through modeling, coaching, and strategies aligned with the child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).


Location: Mobile position serving Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wyoming, and Susquehanna Counties
Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Pay:$56–$64 per four billed units of service.


Responsibilities

  • Provide early intervention services to children from birth through the day before their third birthday.
  • Implement and support the goals outlined in each child’s IFSP.
  • Support children and families through demonstration, modeling, coaching, and information sharing.
  • Engage parents in the consistent use of strategies that support their child’s goals and actively involve them in the goal attainment process.
  • Complete session notes and quarterly progress monitoring using agency-approved forms and formats.
  • Serve as the agency liaison with the county Service Coordinator.
  • Attend training related to child development and the specific needs of the infant and toddler population.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, or family studies; and
  • One year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families, or a university-supervised or college-supervised student practicum or teaching experience with preschool children with disabilities and their families.

OR

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university that includes at least 15 credit hours in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, or family studies; and
  • One year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families; and
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and skills necessary to perform early interventionist responsibilities.

Travel Requirements and Compensation

  • This is a 100% mobile position requiring regular travel throughout the service area.
  • Candidates must have a vehicle, active automobile insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel expenses are included.
  • Compensation is paid per billed unit of service, with each unit equal to 15 minutes.
  • This is an independent contractor position. A Form 1099-NEC is provided at the end of the year.
