B Class Welder- 1st shift
Description

We are looking for a skilled B-Class Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, and will be responsible for performing welding tasks on metal components according to blueprints and work orders. As a B-Class Welder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the strength, safety, and quality of welded components while adhering to safety protocols and operational standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding Operations: Perform welding using MIG, TIG, and Stick techniques on various metal types, ensuring welds meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine proper welding procedures and specifications for each job.
  • Assembly & Fitting: Fit metal components and prepare materials for welding, ensuring proper alignment and securing of pieces.
  • Quality Control: Inspect welds for conformance to specifications and ensure they meet quality standards. Use measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify the dimensions of welded parts.
  • Welding Process Adjustments: Adjust machine settings (voltage, current, speed, etc.) to achieve the desired weld quality and prevent defects such as porosity, cracks, or undercuts.
  • Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing, to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed on time and to specification.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of the work performed, including materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered during the welding process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, or similar) is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in welding, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
  • Experience in welding metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in various welding methods (MIG, TIG, Stick) and understanding of welding equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring welds meet quality standards and are free of defects
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Ability to measure and inspect parts for correct dimensions and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of welding safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods in a physically demanding environment.
  • Comfortable working in hot, noisy, and sometimes hazardous environments.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing.
