Position Summary

The Client Services and Sales Specialist supports the agency's sales and service efforts while developing the skills necessary to independently generate, manage, and retain business. Working under the guidance of agency leadership and experienced Producers, this role participates in prospecting activities, client meetings, proposal development, account growth initiatives, and ongoing client relationship management.

The Client Services and Sales Specialist serves as a key point of coordination between clients and the service team, helping ensure clients receive exceptional support while developing sales, marketing, and insurance expertise. This position is ideal for an early-career insurance professional seeking to build a long-term career in commercial insurance sales and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Prospecting

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Respond to and manage smaller new business opportunities generated through referrals, digital channels, and inbound inquiries.
  • Participate in prospect meetings, presentations, and sales discussions.
  • Develop prospecting strategies and build relationships with potential clients and referral sources.
  • Generate referrals and introductions that contribute to agency growth.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and business partners.
  • Coordinate client needs and requests with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and account management teams.
  • Help ensure client questions, concerns, and service requests are addressed accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in client meetings and ongoing account review discussions.
  • Support account retention and client satisfaction initiatives.

Sales Support & Account Growth

  • Assist with proposal preparation, marketing efforts, and coverage presentations.
  • Participate in renewal strategy discussions and account planning activities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through cross-selling and additional coverage solutions.
  • Support producers and agency leadership in achieving new business and retention goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Insurance Knowledge & Professional Development

  • Develop a strong understanding of commercial insurance products, coverages, carriers, and markets.
  • Learn industry-specific risks and insurance solutions relevant to sports, recreation, entertainment, and facility-based businesses.
  • Assist in addressing basic coverage inquiries and policy-related questions.
  • Participate in training, licensing, and professional development opportunities.
  • Build negotiation, presentation, and consultative sales skills.

Team Collaboration & Operational Support

  • Partner with producers, CSRs, and agency leadership to support business objectives.
  • Maintain accurate client and prospect records within agency systems.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives that improve agency operations and client service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

  • One (1) or more years of client service, sales, business development, or insurance experience.
  • Experience managing customer relationships in a professional services environment is preferred.
  • Internship experience in insurance, sales, financial services, or a related field is a plus.

Licensing

  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) License required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
