Pay Range: $20.27-$21.50/hour
This position supports both the Saratoga Springs and Wilton branches

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role under the supervision of the Sr. Program Director assist in developing, leading, auditing, promoting and follow through of programs including but not limited to Youth Sports, Archery, Adult Sports and Leagues, STEM, Dance, Arts and Family programming, Birthday Parties, Parents Night Out and Kids Night Out and all other revenue driving programs as assigned by the Sr. Program Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with ensuring programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing ?program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within ?the SRYMCA branches as needed.
- Assist in creating, develop, implement and manage high quality, mission focused programs that meet the needs of the SRYMCA branches. Ensure quality program delivery and effective use of resources including staff, volunteers and equipment within established budget.
- Assist in ensuring staff excellence in service delivery to assure program retention, satisfaction and growth.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all regulatory safety standards including but not limited to DHS, NYS regulations and all SRYMCA policies and procedures.
- Assist in ensuring all aspects of safety are met related to staffing, equipment, environment and behavior. Know and train on the use of incident reports, emergency procedures, stocked first aid kits, etc.
- Assist in holding meetings with core staff to communicate program successes and shortcomings and to develop plans to address the identified needs.
- Participate, support and organize Saratoga Regional YMCA special events (twice a year) and department fundraising activity.
- Assist with designing and implementing session-based program activities to create activity advancement in all programs.
- Regularly meet with Sr. program Director to evaluate and expand program offerings.
- Assist in completing regular, session-based evaluations and surveys of your programs through our membership base and program participants.
- Promote Membership growth and retention to meet YMCA goals, through program promotions, member engagement in programs, sales and marketing activities in programs, and providing outstanding customer service to new and existing members in and during programs.
- Performs all supervisory and administrative duties in assigned area; ensures preparation and submission of all required reports and payroll is processed accurately for the Senior Program Director to submit on time.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with program participants, parents, members, staff and volunteers providing motivational support and guidance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Youth/Sports and Child Care.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a child care or sports related field preferred.
- Experience in staff supervision, committees and in providing leadership to groups.
- Ability to recruit, train, schedule, supervise and motivate staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with problem solving skills. Demonstrated experience setting and managing priorities.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.
- Acquire and maintain the following certifications: CPR Pro/AED/O2 (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted), First Aid (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted.
