Job Summary: 


A Barista Employee creates a welcoming environment for customers by preparing quality beverages and food items, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. Baristas work as part of a team to deliver exceptional service while upholding company standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Prepares and serves cold and hot beverages, such as sodas, coffee, blended coffee, and tea, to patrons; correctly customizes orders as requested.

· Describes product details to customers.

· Receives and processes customer payments.

· Serves prepared foods and baked goods including sandwiches, biscotti, muffins, or bagels.

· Ensure customer service stations are properly stocked with paper products or beverage preparation items. 

· Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas.

· Cleans and sanitizes service and seating areas.

· Ensures proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and heating by routinely checking temperatures in that equipment.

· Stocks supplies or retail products; may be asked to assist in daily inventory, or receive products as directed.

· Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  

Required Skills/Abilities: 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

· Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.

· Good memory to manage multiple orders simultaneously and recall faces, names, and preferences of frequent patrons. 

· Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly. 

Education and Experience:

· Must successfully complete training in food preparation, food service skills, and customer service procedures. 

· Must be able to obtain (BIA) food handlers’ card within 2 weeks of employment with receipt for reimbursement from the Company

Physical Requirements: 

· Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at times. 

· Must be available to work variable shifts: early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, crouch and bend throughout shift for 8.5 hours a day
