Pilates Reformer Instructor
Description


The Pilates Reformer Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging Reformer Pilates classes for participants of varying fitness levels. The instructor creates a welcoming and supportive environment while providing clear instruction, proper form guidance, and appropriate modifications to meet individual needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging and professionally structured Reformer Pilates classes.
  • Demonstrate proper Reformer techniques, exercises, and equipment use.
  • Provide clear verbal and visual instruction throughout each class.
  • Monitor participants and provide corrections to ensure proper form and safety.
  • Offer modifications and progressions for different fitness levels and abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating class environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Reformer studio.
  • Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Build positive relationships with members and encourage continued participation.
  • Communicate professionally with members, staff, and Healthy Living leadership.
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Pilates Reformer certification from a recognized training organization required.
  • Experience teaching Reformer Pilates in a group fitness setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Pilates principles, anatomy, movement, and exercise modifications.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to create a welcoming experience for both beginners and experienced participants.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to demonstrate Reformer exercises, safely assist participants when appropriate, and stand, bend, kneel, and move throughout the studio during classes.

Salary Description
$30 - $45/hr
