GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for the administration and management of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMware infrastructure, and the day-to-day performance and availability of the organization’s network, voice system, and data storage. Monitors network through proficiency with network monitoring tools and CISCO firewall, routers, and switches. Provides senior leadership of the network staff as a Level-3 resource, and works with management to ensure the infrastructure supports the Credit Union’s staff and members. Effectively communicate with vendors and management in providing recommendations for improving network performance and cyber-security requirements. Works directly with the Network Manager.


MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administration and maintenance of Windows Active Directory, Exchange DAG cluster, SAN data storage, and all physical and virtual devices.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tuning the network for optimal performance, troubleshooting issues, and configuring the Cisco ASA firewall, and Cisco switches and routers.
  • Administer VMWare infrastructure, planning for increased stability, performance and growth.
  • Administer and support Interactive Intelligence VOIP system.
  • Manage and monitor backup system.
  • Performs threat and vulnerability scanning, monitoring and management to ensure risks have been minimized and/ or mitigated.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining thorough documentation concerning network addresses, physical architecture and layout, and network/server configurations where necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan and performing test.
  • Provides level 3 support and works with vendors to coordinate issue resolution.
  • Good communication and writing skills with the ability to communicate with all levels.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to resolve network connectivity and communication-related problems as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of project plans for all network projects and facilitate project implementations on a timely basis. Work with other departments to accomplish projects and tasks.
  • Is able to work independently on broad assignments and capable of making decisions both involving projects as well as ongoing troubleshooting.
  • Maintain security rights and directory structure as outlined by IT policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily monitoring of the critical systems in order to prevent major system failures. This includes checking event logs, system resource availability, application logs, and any future performance logs.
  • Ensures that work results and processes comply with relevant laws and with established NIHFCU policies, procedures, and practices, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), GLBA, NCUA, FFIEC, NIST, and CIS.
  • Attends all BSA training or completes and passes all online BSA training tests as applicable, and according to BSA Policy requirements.
  • Perform other related work as assigned and initiative using available resources to achieve established goals.
Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum of 6 years of IT experience in a production environment.
  • Required: 2-4 years of IT experience within the financial services industry, including a bank or credit union.
  • 6 or more years of experience in routing and switching within an enterprise environment.
  • 2 or more years of experience with VMware ESXi, VMware vCloud, and VMware Horizon View (VDI) deployment and administration. Experience with Active Directory/LDAP and Microsoft Exchange. Knowledge of Cohesity NetBackup and IBM Storwize SAN is a plus.
  • Experience with Zerto disaster recovery and backup solutions is a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the design, provisioning, and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and MAN connectivity technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Access Control Lists (ACLs), TCP/IP, VLANs, VRFs, Port Security, IP Multicast, routing, and switching.
  • Industry certifications are a plus, including: 
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

* Salary range: $80,104-100,130; FSLA Classification: Exempt.
