We are seeking a caring, dependable, and responsible Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in a residential group-home setting.


This position provides additional morning support to our regular residential staff. The DSP will help prepare breakfast and assist the regular staff with getting individuals ready for their day program.

Schedule

  • Part-time: 15 hours per week
  • Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–9:00 AM
  • Consistent morning schedule

Responsibilities

The Morning DSP will work alongside the regular residential staff to help ensure individuals have a smooth and successful start to their day.


Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and serve breakfast according to residents' needs and established meal plans.
  • Assist regular staff with getting individuals ready for their day program.
  • Provide prompts and assistance with morning routines as directed by regular staff.
  • Assist with dressing, grooming, and other daily living activities as needed.
  • Help ensure individuals have their belongings and items needed for the day.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe kitchen and common-area environment after breakfast.
  • Follow individual service plans, safety procedures, and agency policies.
  • Communicate any concerns or important observations to the regular staff or supervisor.
  • Support individuals with patience, dignity, respect, and encouragement.
  • Work cooperatively with the regular residential staff to keep the morning routine running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with IDD or in a residential setting is preferred but not required.
  • Must be dependable, patient, compassionate, and responsible.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working as part of a team and following the direction of regular residential staff.
  • Must be able to complete required training and meet applicable employment requirements.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
