Job Type: Part-time, one day per week 


Pay Range: $90 - $110 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Overview:

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, brief therapeutic support, and crisis intervention for Relate clients approximately one day per week. Most clients served will be age 18 and under. This hybrid role includes 50% in-office work at Relate’s Eden Prairie location and 50% remote work. Supported by a billing, intake, and administrative team, this role collaborates with therapists and other healthcare providers to coordinate care, educate clients and families, and make referrals when additional or higher-level services are needed. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner maintains timely and accurate documentation and ensures services comply with Relate policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal requirements, including telehealth and controlled-substance regulations.

• Telepsychiatry Services (if applicable)

• Any other services that are related to the title of a psychiatric nurse practitioner at a community mental health clinic.


Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.

• Current national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

• Current prescriptive authority in Minnesota and active DEA registration, including authority to prescribe controlled substances.

• Minimum of two years of psychiatric or community mental health experience preferred.

• Experience working effectively and comfortably with children.

• Experience conducting psychiatric assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, developing treatment plans, and managing psychiatric medications.

• Experience providing telepsychiatry services preferred.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with therapists, primary care providers, and other members of a multidisciplinary care team.

• Strong clinical judgment, crisis-assessment skills, communication skills, and documentation practices.

• Experience working with diverse clients and communities.

• Familiarity with electronic health records, insurance documentation, and billing requirements.


Competitive Salary: 

Compensation is based on experience and expertise. This position may be structured as either a W-2 employee or an independent contractor, depending on the nature of the working relationship and applicable legal requirements.
