Description
Principal role, relationships, and results expected of this position.
Planning and implementing a program of recreational and educational events providing the social milieu enabling residents to maintain as high a level of functioning as possible. Responsible for supervision of programs, personnel, and volunteers. Provides personalized member attention for emotional, spiritual, and social needs in accordance with established polices and procedures, and department's standards of practices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Tasks, activities, and functions this position is required to perform on a regular basis.
- Provide a quality work environment through team principles and positive attitudes.
- Give input into general operation, budgeting process, and fiscal compliance of activity department.
- Assists Social Worker in reviewing, developing, coordinating, and communicating department policies and procedures.
- Is a member of the care planning team, and shares responsibility of timely record keeping. Maintains high levels of accuracy regarding documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Plans calendar for the four programs.
- Supports and participates in funding source inspections.
- Maintains good working relationships with other departments.
- Assists with coordination and supervision of adult and student volunteer services as well as work study students
- Part of departments Performance Improvement Program, and has the ability to identify problems and problem solve.
- Facilitates monthly activity meetings, attends bi-monthly staff meetings, and other meetings, as appropriate.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field from accredited college/university.
- NCCAP/&/or Recreation Therapist Certification
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- Completed, or currently enrolled in State/NCCAP approved Activity Professional's Course.
- Knowledge of state/federal assessment/care planning documentation process
- 1 year experience working in activities or related field
- 2 years working in long term care/adult day care or related facility
