Job Summary
- The Director of Inpatient Services is responsible for managing, directing, and supervising assigned staff. Responsibilities include staff performance, recruitment, retention, and development; preparing staff schedules and other related documentation; overall operations of assigned nursing unit(s).
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on assigned nursing unit(s), in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and program plans of the hospital.
- Ensure patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education standards are followed.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treatment and care.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge in assigned nursing units.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
- Effective oral/written communication skills.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treatment and care.
Education and Experience:
- Current Illinois nursing licensure
- BSN degree preferred
- PALS, ACLS, and/or Neonatal Resuscitation certificate may be required
- Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience
- Demonstrated administrative/supervisory competence
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of moderate demand
- Routine lifting requirements are fewer than 25 pounds
- Occasional lifting requirements of medium to heavy demand
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching required;
- May be required to assist with and/or transport patients
- Works inside
- May be exposed to communicable diseases.

Salary Description
$85,000 - $118,000 year - Depending on Experience
