What’s the job?

We’re looking for an HR Generalist who enjoys making HR work well for both employees and the business. Partnering closely with our VP of HR, you’ll support the full employee lifecycle and take direct ownership of HR systems, employee data and daily HR operations. You’ll be a go-to resource for employees and managers, bringing clear guidance, sound judgment and attention to detail to everything from benefits and leave to performance management and employee relations. You’ll also work with Finance, Payroll and our global HR partners to keep records accurate, processes reliable and the employee experience responsive and personal.

HR Systems and People Data

  • Own administration of our HRIS and connected tools, including configuration, workflows, approvals, user access, reporting and vendor support.
  • Process hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves, terminations and benefit elections accurately and on time. Validate changes against supporting documentation and approvals.
  • Reconcile data across HRIS, payroll, benefits and vendor systems, investigate discrepancies and improve the processes behind them.
  • Partner with Finance to align job codes, departments, cost centers, reporting relationships, locations and general ledger coding across systems.
  • Prepare reliable headcount, turnover, benefits and compliance reports, maintain process documentation, and coordinate integrations, file feeds, system updates and testing.

Benefits and Leave Administration

  • Administer health and welfare benefits, including new-hire enrollments, qualifying life events, coverage terminations and coordination of COBRA with our providers.
  • Help plan and execute annual open enrollment, from system setup and employee communications to education sessions, enrollment tracking and carrier file verification.
  • Work directly with brokers, carriers and vendors to resolve eligibility, enrollment and claims issues.
  • Administer leaves of absence and coordinate disability and workers’ compensation claims with employees, managers and providers.
  • Review enrollment accuracy, employee feedback, utilization and cost trends to identify ways to improve benefits delivery.

Employee and Manager Support

  • Be the first point of contact for questions about HR policies, benefits, leave and systems, providing practical guidance with empathy and discretion.
  • Partner with the VP of HR on recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compensation, learning and employee engagement.
  • Support performance and merit cycles by coordinating timelines, preparing data, guiding managers, tracking completion and updating systems.
  • Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, offer letters and background checks. Lead HR onboarding and new-hire orientation, and coordinate timely offboarding.
  • Document employee concerns, assist with investigations and advise managers on policy. Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the VP of HR.
  • Contribute to employee engagement, recognition, training and other HR initiatives.

Finance and Payroll Coordination

  • Reconcile benefit invoices against enrollment records and payroll deductions, resolve discrepancies and prepare payment documentation for Accounts Payable.
  • Provide accurate, timely payroll inputs and partner with Payroll and Finance on corrections, reconciliations and year-end activities.
  • Support benefits and HR budgeting, accruals and cost reporting.

Compliance and HR Operations

  • Support compliance with applicable employment and benefits requirements, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and state leave laws.
  • Manage I-9 and E-Verify processes, personnel records and retention practices.
  • Coordinate required notices, filings and reporting with internal teams and providers, including ACA reporting, EEO-1 and Form 5500 support.
  • Prepare documentation for benefits, payroll, financial and other internal or external audits.
  • Keep policies, the employee handbook, job descriptions and operating procedures current as requirements and business needs evolve.

Global HR Support

  • Coordinate employee administration outside the U.S. with local HR teams, including international onboarding, employee data changes and benefits inquiries.
  • Help build consistent global HR processes that accommodate local requirements.

What’s the work location?

You’ll be based out of our stunning, light-filled headquarters in the Warehouse District of Downtown Phoenix—a 17,000-square-foot space designed for collaboration, creativity, and connection. During onboarding and training, you’ll work in-office five days a week to build momentum, meet your teammates, and ramp up with hands-on support. Once key KPIs and performance metrics are met, you’ll transition to a hybrid schedule — giving you the flexibility to balance focused work and in-person collaboration.

What's the earning potential?

This role offers an annual base salary of $85,000–$95,000, based on experience, plus a performance-based bonus opportunity of 20% of annual base salary, paid quarterly.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

  • 3–5 years of broad HR generalist experience across HR operations, benefits, employee relations and recruiting, including at least two full open enrollment cycles.
  • Hands-on HRIS administration experience, including configuration, access management, workflows, reporting and employee data maintenance.
  • Experience supporting performance management and advising employees and managers on everyday HR matters.
  • Working knowledge of benefits administration, leave requirements and core employment laws.
  • Experience reconciling benefits or payroll data and partnering closely with Finance or Payroll.
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables, with a consistent commitment to data accuracy.
  • The ability to balance competing priorities, follow through on details and improve processes while keeping daily operations running smoothly.
  • Sound judgment, discretion with confidential information and an approachable, service-oriented manner.
  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.

We'd love it if you have:

  • Paylocity experience.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology or another fast-paced environment.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification, or CEBS coursework.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach: you take ownership, step in where needed and balance responsiveness with accuracy and sound judgment.
