As a MassMEP Business Development Advisor, you'll spend most of your week on manufacturing floors across Massachusetts, from advanced electronics to textiles to precision machining, helping the companies that still make things here compete and grow. It's a role built for seasoned operations leaders and industrial sellers. You will be helping defense suppliers, semiconductor and electronics makers, robotics builders, advanced materials companies, and precision machine shops—all critical parts of Massachusetts’ manufacturing ecosystem! What the job really is -
You’re the quarterback for your territory. You build trusted relationships with owners and plant leaders, understand what’s holding them back, and bring the right team together—our project managers, technology specialists, and statewide network of funders and partners. Whether the challenge is capacity, quality, automation, workforce, defense requirements, or financing, you help move the opportunity forward. You take initiative, coordinate the team, and drive results with MassMEP’s strategy as your playbook.

Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree BS/BA
· Ability to travel on a daily basis throughout Massachusetts
· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite to prepare presentations and communications, and to track delivery of services, and administration of survey process
· Broad based knowledge and experience in manufacturing, operations, and technology.
· Possess and retain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
· BSc, BEng, or MSc in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
· 8 + Years of related work experience in manufacturing and/or sales
· Proven track record of negotiation skills resulting in achieving internal and/or external sales objectives
· Knowledge of MEP policies and procedures
· Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management software), Salesforce highly preferred
Travel Requirements
- Travel throughout the state up to 100% (mileage reimbursement provided)
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit and stand intermittently as required in an office environment
· Infrequent exposure to dust, heat and cold when visiting manufacturing environments
· Ability to operate a motor vehicle
· Infrequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds when assisting in the set-up of training.
