Description
Controls Installation has the main responsibility to install controls and pneumatics on fixtures and equipment. With the wide variation of equipment, they need to be well diverse in reading and understanding schematics and pneumatic drawings.
Work Performed:
- Layout and install electrical and pneumatic control systems for custom machines and tooling fixtures
- Inspect and verify function of control systems
- Coordinate with supervisor and lead to ensure job schedule is maintained
- Assist in mechanical assembly of machines and tooling
- Assist in machine and tooling integration
- Assist in preparing machines and tooling for shipment
- Work with supervisor and team on various continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain clean and orderly workspace
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate’s degree or 2 years related work experience
- Ability to operate basic shop equipment: metal band saw, hand drill, drill press, grinder, fork truck, ladder, scissor lift, etc.
- Ability to read and follow electrical drawings
- Knowledge of control components and hardware: airline, J-boxes, PLC, relays, safety relays, light curtains, user interface panels, prox. switches, reed switches, etc.
- Ability to communicate well with customers, team members, management
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Familiarity with personal computers, Windows 7, MS Excel, MS Word, etc. a plus
- Knowledge of various pneumatic components a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for extended periods
- Working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Working overtime is required when workloads exist
