Salary Description: $16.00 hourly
Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre world-class paradise, featuring the flora and cultures of the tropics and sub-tropics including Brazil, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Florida. The Garden’s mission is to connect people and plants through display, education, conservation, and applied science. The Garden has beautifully restored native habitats, cultivated gardens, walking trails, and public programming that offer education and enjoyment for people of all ages. Event Details:
- Event dates: November 27 – January 10, (except 12/24, 12/25, 12/31).
- Event times: 6:00 pm–9:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday, and 6:00 pm -10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday (staff assembles at 5:30 for nightly assignments, radio, announcements).
- 15-20 hrs/wk minimum, $16/hr.
Position Summary: Naples Botanical Garden is seeking seasonal staff to act as Wayfinders, positioned at various locations throughout the Garden, during our Johnsonville Night Lights event. Our Wayfinders for this event play a critical role in the guest experience of Johnsonville Night Lights. Wayfinders provide answers to questions and directions for guests, and share holiday cheer to create a warm, memorable experience through friendly interactions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer guest questions.
- Provide directional guidance.
- Warmly greet guests in your assigned area.
- Notify Manager on Duty of any safety or security issues.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Excellent people skills, kind and respectful collaboration, and pleasant attitude with fellow staff and Garden visitors.
- Ability to interact with a diverse group of visitors.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Share basic Garden information with guests regarding annual theme and Johnsonville Night Lights event (information will be provided).
- Garden radio communication with staff.
- Must be able to work a consistent weekly schedule.
- Pre-employment background check required.
Dress code: Black or khaki pants or capris (no athletic wear or jeans), comfortable shoes, solid color shirt. Event Staff safety vest will be provided.
Schedule requirements: Must work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, one shift each week on a Saturday or Sunday.
