POSITION TITLE: SERVER

CLASSIFICATION: NON - EXEMPT

STATUS: FULL TIME / PART TIME

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is under the direct supervision of the Front of House Supervisor and is located at The Stables Casino. Responsible for the efficient and correct service of food and/or beverage to patrons according to the casino procedures and applicable state laws. Guests must feel welcome, comfortable, and well always attended to.

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Assists host by answering phones to take to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests

·         Writes patrons' food orders on order slips, memorizes orders, and enters orders into the computer. Enters all information and communicates with the kitchen as needed.

·         Prepares hot or cold beverages

·         Checks patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages

·         Informs patrons of daily specials

·         Explains how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods

·         Serves food or beverages to patrons and prepares or serves specialty dishes at tables as required

·         Collects payments from customers

·         Communicates with patrons to ensure satisfaction, taking action to correct any issues.

·         Performs food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, and portioning desserts

·         Prepares tables for meals, ensuring all tables are clean and that salt, pepper, and sugar are clean and full.

·         Rolls silverware, sets up dining area for next shift or for large parties

·         Stocks service areas with supplies such as coffee, tea, tableware, and rags

·         Cleans food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment

·         Performs cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude

·         Ability to follow direction regarding food preparation, storage, and safety

·         Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required

·         Performs other tasks and duties as directed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Must be 18 years of age

·         Must have a High School Diploma or GED

·         Must possess a valid driver’s license

·         Must have one (1) to two (2) years related experience or training (preferred)

·         Must be able to obtain and maintain a Modoc Nation Gaming License

·         May be subject to criminal background investigation

·         Must possess in high integrity regarding confidential and sensitive information

·         Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral

·         Must have the ability to work in fast paced environment, multitask and meet deadlines

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

·         Maintains excellent working relationships with other Company staff and all applicable regulatory commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure compliance.

·         Performs all duties in accordance with the gaming operations core values, objectives of the Modoc Nation, system of  internal control policies and procedures, as well, as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control, USA Patriot Act and Privacy Act.
