The Partner Success Manager is PAX Health’s primary relationship builder and growth driver in the field. This role is responsible for developing and expanding a high-value referral network across community-based organizations, primary care practices, hospitals and health systems, women’s health providers, mental health groups, and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), while also serving as a knowledgeable resource on PAX’s full service continuum, including workers’ compensation programs, Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), and specialty services such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
This is a dual-function role. Equal parts relationship manager and new business developer. The right candidate builds genuine, lasting partnerships rooted in clinical trust and community connection, while consistently generating referral volume and actively prospecting new accounts.
They can walk into a FQHC or community health center and speak authentically about access to care for underserved populations, then walk into a hospital system meeting and speak fluently about care coordination, step-down workflows, and behavioral health integration, and, when the opportunity is right, cross-sell PAX’s workers’ comp and IME programs to the appropriate stakeholder.
Job Responsibilities:
Community Partnership Development
• Build and maintain referral relationships across primary care practices, hospitals and health systems, women’s health providers, mental health groups, FQHCs, and community health organizations
• Conduct regular office visits, lunch-and-learns, and check-ins with front desk staff, care coordinators, case managers, discharge planners, and referring providers across all partner types
• Educate partners on PAX’s 48–72 hour access model, telehealth availability, full service continuum, and multi-insurance coverage, tailoring the message to each audience
• Position PAX as the preferred behavioral health partner for warm handoffs, step-down referrals, complex patient populations, and underserved communities
• Engage health system leadership, FQHC directors, and community health coalitions with PAX’s outcomes data, access metrics, and Medicaid/Medicare coverage capabilities to support formal partnership agreements
• Partner with birthing centers, lactation programs, maternal health coalitions, and women’s health networks to build referral pathways for perinatal and postpartum patients
• Build bi-directional referral pathways with peer support organizations, recovery centers, SUD treatment programs, and dual-diagnosis facilities
• Participate in hospital grand rounds, community health initiatives, health equity coalitions, and professional peer networks to deepen PAX’s community presence
Specialty Service & Cross-Sell Fluency
• Speak confidently to PAX’s full outpatient continuum, individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatry, psychology, neuropsychology, medication management, and TMS, matching the right service to each partner’s patient population
• Introduce workers’ compensation services to occupational medicine groups, employers, unions, HR departments, and managed care organizations; articulate PAX’s WC value proposition (48–72 hour access, multi-state coverage, outcomes documentation)
• Identify IME referral opportunities among attorneys, TPAs, insurance carriers, and disability management programs; educate partners on PAX’s neuropsychological IMEs, psychiatric evaluations, and records review capabilities
• Introduce TMS as a non-pharmacological treatment option for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD; navigate payer coverage and prior authorization questions across commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, and workers’ comp lines
• Position neuropsychological and psychological testing services with hospitals, schools, pediatric practices, and legal/disability referral sources for ADHD evaluations, learning disability assessments, and cognitive assessments
• Highlight key access advantages across all service lines: patients ages 5 and up, all major insurance accepted, in-person and telehealth, locations across NJ, NY, and PA
New Business Development
• Prospect new referral accounts through cold calling, networking, conferences, and digital outreach
• Qualify and follow up on inbound leads from campaigns, web sources, and referral networks
• Develop and execute a territory growth plan with monthly and quarterly new partner acquisition targets
• Build and maintain an accurate CRM pipeline; provide regular forecasting to leadership
Account Management & Partner Retention
• Conduct regular check-ins with active partners to assess satisfaction, resolve concerns, and identify growth opportunities
• Onboard and train new partner staff on PAX’s referral workflows, service offerings, and intake process
• Track and report partner engagement, referral volume, and utilization metrics
Collaboration & Field Intelligence
• Work cross-functionally with clinical, operations, scheduling, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless partner and patient experience
• Provide ongoing field feedback on competitor activity, market gaps, and service improvement opportunities
• Support development of co-branded materials, community-specific collateral, and partner-facing ROI tools
• 3–5+ years in healthcare sales, account management, community outreach, or business development
• Demonstrated success building referral relationships in community health, primary care, hospital, or behavioral health settings
• Comfortable with both new business prospecting and long-term account stewardship
• Strong ability to communicate across a wide range of clinical audiences—from front desk staff to C-suite administrators
• Familiarity with behavioral health services, managed care, Medicaid/Medicare, and community health systems
• Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory
Preferred
• Experience with FQHCs, community health centers, or underserved population health programs
