COMPANY OVERVIEW
Feeding Tampa Bay serves ten counties in West Central Florida and we are a leader in hunger relief across our region. Just last year, we served 85M meals to our neighbors through direct service and through our network of 400+ food pantry partners. But we know food alone won’t solve hunger – that’s why we’re redefining that it means to feed our region. By creating pathways to possibilities for nearly 1 million people, Feeding Tampa Bay connects and convenes solutions, partners and resources that nourish long-term stability. As a member of the Feeding America Network, we will work to dismantle barriers for individuals, families, and seniors across our area – because it’s possible.
At Feeding Tampa Bay, we are on a united path to transform our community. We thoughtfully drive change while embracing and celebrating our collective impact, as well as the impact of each individual. Through our Grow Code we strive to honor all, conquer together, be imaginists, speak with truth, and stay rooted in the mission of Feeding Tampa Bay.
SUMMARY
Feeding Tampa Bay is seeking a creative, hands-on AV and Technology Specialist to join our mission-driven team. As our primary AV Specialist, you'll help drive our audio-visual operations and serve as the technical backbone of our events. The role requires flexibility in both skills and schedule: AV and events are the primary focus, including regular nights and weekends, with IT support filling the time in between. Your mix of work will shift with our event calendar.
You will help manage our AV environment end to end, from event equipment and conference room systems, to run-of-show execution, while helping to explore new hardware and tools that make our events and spaces better. When events are quiet, you will join the core IT team, supporting daily tasks and Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk requests.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
AV and Events

- Event Support: Serve as the primary on-site AV and technical lead for internal and external events, including planning, setup, breakdown, and maintenance.
- Run-of-Show: Partner with events staff to support run-of-show from both an AV and IT perspective: cueing, live operation, and real-time problem solving.
- Innovation: Research, test, and recommend new AV hardware, software, and tools that expand our capabilities, when budget and time allow. Prototype ideas and bring solutions, not just fixes.
- On-the-Spot Problem Solving: Adapt quickly when plans change, and keep events running smoothly under pressure.
- AV Inventory and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of AV equipment and accessories. Create setup guides, room documentation, and training materials for staff and event users.
IT Support
- Help Desk: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for software, hardware, AV, and network issues via helpdesk, phone, email, and in person, primarily during event downtime.
- Daily IT Operations: Assist the core IT team with day-to-day tasks, including device setup, account and access management, and routine maintenance.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot a wide range of technical problems, escalating complex issues to vendors and managing resolution from start to finish.
- Hardware and Software Management: Install, configure, and maintain computers, software, and peripherals.
- Inventory and Licensing: Keep accurate records of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Knowledge Base: Create and update user-friendly documentation for the help desk team and end users.
- Network and Security Support: Assist with network maintenance, troubleshooting, user access management, and physical security systems such as access control and surveillance.
