Production Area Manager
Good leaders manage the day. Great leaders make tomorrow run better. We need both.
We know that great manufacturing takes more than skilled machinists and advanced equipment. It takes thoughtful planning, strong communication, and someone who can bring all the moving pieces together.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for an Area Manager who knows how to lead people, build effective plans, and turn production goals into results.
As the Area Manager, you'll oversee daily manufacturing operations within your designated production area, ensuring production targets are met through effective planning, scheduling, and coordination. Leading a team of 10–15 employees, you'll be responsible for keeping work moving, maximizing efficiency, and making sure your team has the resources and support to succeed.
What You'll Own
- Lead daily production operations, planning, and execution
- Lead Machinists and coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Sales
- Balance production priorities, capacity, staffing, and resources
- Ensure materials, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions are ready when needed
- Drive performance in machining hours, on-time delivery, quality, and labor efficiency
- Develop employees through coaching, training resources, feedback, and performance management
- Set clear expectations, reinforce accountability, and recognize team success
What Makes You Successful
Manufacturing doesn't always go according to plan. We need someone who can anticipate challenges, pivot, make thoughtful decisions, and keep the team moving forward.
- You recognize bottlenecks before they disrupt production
- You understand how downtime, missing resources, and shifting priorities affect the bigger picture
- You approach problems with critical thinking and practical solutions
- You communicate clearly, make decisions, and follow through
- You balance immediate production needs with long-term improvements
- You lead with accountability while giving your team the support they need to succeed
What You Bring
- A degree in Business or Engineering preferred
- Proven people leadership and team development experience
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- 3+ years' experience with production planning, resource management, or project management
- The ability to prioritize, adapt, and execute in a fast-paced environment
- A continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required
- Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred
