Description

Job Summary

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for performing receiving, shipping, warehousing, production kitting, inventory handling, and related material activities in support of manufacturing operations. This position ensures that material is accurately received, identified, stored, issued, staged, delivered, and shipped and that associated transactions are accurately and timely recorded in the company's ERP system.

The Materials Coordinators may have primary day-to-day assignments in areas such as Receiving or Shipping but are expected to develop proficiency across the Materials function and provide coverage and support as operational needs require. The position works closely with Production, Purchasing, Project Management, Quality, and other departments under the direction of the Warehouse & Inventory Supervisor.

Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, organization, dependability, and an understanding that accurate physical material handling and accurate system transactions are equally important parts of the job.

Requirements

  • Receiving: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Identify discrepancies, properly label and store materials, and complete accurate ERP transactions.
  • Shipping: Prepare, package, label, and coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate quantities, documentation, and timely carrier pickups.
  • Production Support: Pick, organize, and stage materials for production jobs, prepare material kits, monitor shortages, and ensure materials are delivered to the appropriate production areas.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain organized warehouse locations, accurately track material movements, perform inventory transactions, and assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • ERP & Documentation: Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records, ensuring all material movements are properly documented in the ERP system.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Project Management, and Quality to resolve material discrepancies, communicate shortages, and support production schedules and customer deliveries.
  • Safety & Organization: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
