Position Summary
The Accreditation Specialist supports Gifthealth’s NABP Digital Pharmacy, URAC, and ACHC accreditations by maintaining the standards, evidence, and documentation that keep us survey-ready year-round. Reporting to the Director of Accreditation and based in Columbus, OH, this role monitors compliance against accreditation standards, coordinates evidence collection with operational teams, supports mock surveys and corrective action tracking, and helps translate requirements into policies, training, and workflows that staff can act on.
At Gifthealth, accreditation is a competitive asset, not a compliance formality. This role is a great fit for someone who is organized, detail-driven, and genuinely enjoys turning complex standards into clear, well-documented practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Standards Monitoring: Maintain working knowledge of NABP Digital Pharmacy, URAC, and ACHC standards across assigned areas of the program. Track where each standard is met, where gaps exist, and what evidence is needed to close them.
- Evidence Management: Collect, organize, and maintain the evidence library, standards crosswalks, and supporting records for assigned standards. Ensure documentation is complete, current, version-controlled, and ready to produce on request.
- Application and Renewal Support: Prepare assigned sections of accreditation applications, self-studies, and renewal submissions. Coordinate with document owners to gather and validate materials ahead of deadlines.
- Audit Readiness: Support internal mock surveys and gap assessments, including scheduling, checklist preparation, interviews, and record reviews. Help prepare staff and departments for surveyor visits.
- Corrective Action Tracking: Log findings, assign and follow up on corrective action plans (CAPs), and document closure and verification. Escalate overdue or at-risk items to the Director.
- Policy and Workflow Alignment: Review policies, SOPs, and operational processes for accreditation alignment and draft recommended updates. Partner with quality, training, HR, and operations teams to embed standards into how the work actually gets done.
- Regulatory Awareness: Monitor updates from NABP, URAC, ACHC, CMS, and state boards that affect our accreditations; summarize changes and potential impacts for the Director.
- Collaboration and Coverage: Work closely with other members of the accreditation team, share knowledge across areas of the program, and provide backup during surveys, renewals, and absences so the program never has a single point of failure.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in pharmacy, healthcare, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
Licensure/Certification: CPhT preferred. Completion of NABP, URAC, or ACHC educational programs is a plus.
Experience: 2+ years in pharmacy accreditation, healthcare compliance, quality, training and development, or a related operational role. Direct exposure to a NABP, URAC, or ACHC survey or renewal cycle is strongly preferred.
Skills (Required): Exceptional organization and attention to detail; strong written communication, including the ability to draft and edit policies and procedures; comfort reading and interpreting accreditation standards and regulatory language; ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up persistently with cross-functional teams; proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
Skills (Preferred): Experience with policy management, training and competency programs, or credentialing records; experience with quality management systems, incident reporting, data analysis, or performance dashboards; background in mail order, specialty, or direct-to-patient pharmacy.
