5 Star Chevrolet is looking for a dependable, mechanically minded Upfit Technician/Mechanic to join our growing team! If you enjoy working with your hands, troubleshooting problems, and figuring out how things work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Our upfit department specializes in outfitting police vehicles, city vehicles, and fleet vehicles with emergency lights, sirens, computers, wiring, consoles, and other specialized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install emergency lights, sirens, computers, consoles, wiring, and specialized equipment.
• Outfit police, city, and fleet vehicles to customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and installation challenges.
• Perform mechanical installations, modifications, and equipment mounting.
• Follow wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
• Make sure every installation works properly and meets quality standards.

• Mechanical ability and a willingness to learn.
• Automotive electrical knowledge and wiring experience      are a BIG plus!
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop      equipment.
• Attention to detail and pride in doing quality work.
• Dependable, motivated, and able to work independently.
• Automotive, fleet, aftermarket accessory, or upfit      experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen prior to employment
