Start Your Sales Career with an Industry Leader

At Trailer Equipment Company, we're looking for a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Entry-Level Inside Sales Representative who is ready to learn, grow, and build a successful career in sales.

As a recognized Hyundai Dealer of the Year and recipient of the 2026 Trailblazer Award, we take pride in delivering industry-leading transportation solutions and exceptional customer service. Our team is focused on helping customers keep their businesses moving while continuing to strengthen and grow our position in the transportation industry.

Whether you're a recent graduate or have experience in customer service, retail, business, logistics, marketing, or another customer-facing environment, this position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop a strong foundation for a career in sales.

About the Role

This is more than a traditional inside sales position. You'll work closely with our sales team and gain experience across customer relationships, sales support, CRM management, inventory management, advertising, and sales analytics.

You'll help keep our sales organization organized by maintaining accurate CRM information, tracking sales activity, working extensively with spreadsheets and data, supporting inventory management, assisting with advertising, and helping ensure our sales team has the information it needs to identify and pursue opportunities.

The right person will enjoy working with both people and data. You'll need to be comfortable communicating with customers while also being highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident working with spreadsheets and technology.

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships with new and existing customers through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist customers with trailer, parts, rental, and service inquiries.
  • Prepare quotes and follow up on customer inquiries and sales opportunities.
  • Support outside sales representatives with prospecting, customer follow-up, and territory development.
  • Assist with lead generation and new business development activities.
  • Help identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and increase sales.
  • Develop a working knowledge of trailers, specifications, product applications, and transportation industry needs.

CRM & Sales Organization

  • Help manage and organize the CRM for the sales team, maintaining accurate customer, prospect, lead, and opportunity information. This directly reflects the Sales Manager's requested scope for the position.
  • Maintain organized and accurate sales activity and customer information.
  • Help drive consistent CRM organization, data quality, and follow-through across the sales process.
  • Support the sales team with information needed to track leads, opportunities, and customer follow-up.

Spreadsheets, Reporting & Data

  • Work extensively with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets to track, organize, maintain, and analyze sales and inventory information.
  • Create and maintain organized spreadsheets used by the sales team.
  • Review information for accuracy and identify missing or incomplete data.
  • Use data to help the sales team stay organized and identify opportunities requiring follow-up.
  • Bring strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with customer, sales, and inventory data.

Significant spreadsheet capability is an intentional requirement for this role, not simply a general computer-skills preference.

Inventory & Advertising Support

  • Assist with inventory management and help maintain accurate information on available trailer inventory.
  • Help organize and communicate inventory information to the sales team.
  • Assist with trailer listings, product information, specifications, and sales materials.
  • Provide support for advertising and promotional activities.
  • Help ensure information used to market available equipment is accurate and current.
  • Coordinate with sales and other internal departments to help move opportunities forward.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills are required.
  • Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, formulas, lists, and detailed information.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to learn and work effectively within a CRM system.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain accurate information and follow through on commitments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service, sales, marketing, business, retail, or logistics experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers by phone, email, and in person.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across sales and other departments.
