POSITION SUMMARY 

Order Selectors are responsible for accurately locating, selecting, handling, and preparing customer orders for next-day delivery in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This is a physically demanding position that requires frequent movement, lifting, carrying, and handling of cases and products throughout the shift. In addition to order selecting responsibilities, team members actively participate in warehouse housekeeping activities, including breaking down boxes, crushing cardboard, end-of-shift cleanup, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. 

COMPENSATION  

• $15.00 per hour during the training period.
• Production-based pay upon successful completion of training
• Bi-Weekly (every other Friday) payroll via Direct Deposit

SCHEDULE  

• On-Site: Lyons Specialty Co. Warehouse located in Port Allen, Louisiana
• Full-Time | Typically Monday - Thursday | 11:30 AM until Completion
• This position operates on an open-ended schedule. Shifts begin promptly at 11:30 AM and end when daily operations are complete. Employees should expect shifts to regularly extend into the evening based on order volume and operational needs. 
• Scheduled workdays and hours may occasionally be adjusted due to holidays, weather events, customer demand, staffing needs, or other business requirements. 
• Reliable attendance on scheduled workdays is critical to supporting customer deliveries and warehouse operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Select and verify products using warehouse technology and scanners. Inspect products for damage or defects.  
• Accurately prepare orders for shipment while meeting productivity and quality standards. 
• Follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area. 
• Break down boxes, crush cardboard, and assist with warehouse housekeeping. 
• Assist with other warehouse responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality by reporting to work on time and prepared for every scheduled shift. 
• Remain at work until assigned duties are completed. Participate in end-of-shift cleanup activities. 
• Follow all company attendance, scheduling, and call-in procedures. Communicate attendance issues promptly.  
• Maintain reliable transportation and make necessary arrangements to ensure consistent attendance and punctuality. 
• Demonstrate flexibility when schedule adjustments are required to support business operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Previous warehouse, order selecting, picking, distribution, or related experience preferred.
• Experience using RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse technology is a plus.
• Basic math and computer skills.

• Demonstrated history of dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Must be able to report to work on time for all scheduled shifts.
• Must be willing to work until daily operations are complete.
• Must be able to accommodate occasional schedule adjustments due to operational needs.
• Must have dependable transportation and the ability to consistently arrive at work as scheduled.
• Ability and willingness to work an open-ended schedule and extended shifts when business needs require.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to regularly bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, and handle warehouse products and materials.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, move, and handle warehouse products throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
• Ability to perform warehouse housekeeping duties, including breaking down boxes, crushing cardboard. 
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, as permitted by applicable law.
