What’s the Role

The Sanitation Supervisor leads the team that keeps our production areas, warehouse, offices, and equipment clean, sanitized, and ready for safe food production every day. This role plans and directs all sanitation activities, works hand-in-hand with Operations and Quality Assurance, and makes sure every area meets company and USDA standards before it is released back to production. Because food safety starts with a clean plant, this role is central to protecting our customers and the families we serve. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, safety-first leader who coaches with respect, holds a high bar for detail and documentation, and stays steady in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

What You’ll Own

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct the sanitation team in cleaning and sanitizing production areas, warehouse, offices, and equipment based on production demand
  • Verify areas meet company and USDA standards before releasing them to operations, and take part in USDA inspections and follow-up corrective actions
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SOPs, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and review protocols for continued effectiveness
  • Train team members on safe chemical handling, use, and disposal, PPE, and proper use of tools and machinery
  • Coach, develop, and evaluate team members, using recognition and constructive feedback to build trust and resolve conflict
  • Champion a strong safety culture, including timely reporting of injuries and near-misses and leading investigations and corrective actions
  • Partner with Operations, QA, and senior management to set department goals, plan projects, and escalate food safety issues
  • Maintain sanitation supply inventory and complete all required documentation and records accurately and on time

  • Must have: 2–3 years of experience in a food warehouse or fresh food manufacturing environment, including at least 1 year applying HACCP and enforcing GMPs

  • Must have: Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, with strong verbal communication and the ability to build working relationships at all levels
  • Must have: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Nice to have: HACCP, food handling, or related certification; First Aid/CPR training
  • Nice to have: Bilingual (English/Spanish); experience with continuous improvement methods or large-scale food operation start-ups
  • Physical: Ability to work in a cold, damp environment, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs

Physical Demands

Work is performed primarily in a chilled production environment, with some time in the office within the warehouse. This role regularly requires standing, walking, squatting, stooping, bending, reaching, talking, and hearing, as well as using hands and fingers to handle, feel, push, or pull objects. Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently, and to lift and carry up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
