Position Title: Water Truck Driver
Department: Track Maintenance
Reports To: Track Superintendent or Designated Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Water Truck Driver is responsible for operating a water truck to maintain turf, grass, and designated grounds areas at Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack. This position also assists with general track maintenance, groundskeeping, and other duties as assigned to support the overall upkeep, safety, and operation of the racetrack.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate the water truck safely to water and maintain designated turf and grass areas.
• Follow watering schedules and adjust activities based on weather, ground conditions, and supervisory direction.
• Monitor turf conditions and report drainage issues, dry areas, or other maintenance concerns.
• Perform general track maintenance, groundskeeping, cleanup, and other related duties as needed.
• Inspect the water truck and related equipment before use and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow all property safety procedures and coordinate work around horses, team members, and racing operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Track Maintenance and Racing Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Experience operating a water truck or similar equipment preferred.
• Ability to perform outdoor physical labor in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and contribute to a team.
• Willingness to perform general track maintenance duties beyond water truck operation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity. The schedule may include early mornings, weekends, holidays, and additional hours based on racing schedules and operational needs.
