Summary
PenChecks Trust is seeking a Marketing Manager to build and operate a scalable, data-driven marketing capability that strengthens the company's core B2B market presence and supports growth across its retirement distribution and IRA solutions. This individual contributor will partner closely with Revenue and Product to sharpen positioning, messaging, content, sales enablement, campaigns, lead generation, partner and client communications, thought leadership, and PenChecks' overall presence in the market.
The Marketing Manager must quickly develop a strong understanding of the PenChecks business and translate complex retirement and financial-services concepts into clear, accurate, and compelling messaging for multiple audiences, including clients, prospects, partners, advisors, and individual investors. The role will also bring B2C growth, conversion, and lifecycle expertise to NextLevel IRA, with particular emphasis on improving the individual investor journey and converting individuals reached through PenChecks' B2B relationships. Experience in a B2B2C or partner-driven environment is especially valuable.
This role will assess current capabilities, establish the marketing strategy and operating rhythm, personally drive execution, manage external agencies and vendors, and create disciplined processes for planning, approvals, measurement, optimization, and executive reporting. The Marketing Manager reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
B2B Marketing Strategy and Market Positioning
Assess current marketing capabilities, channels, tools, content, vendors, and performance to identify gaps and near-term priorities.
Co-develop and execute an integrated B2B marketing strategy, operating rhythm, budget, and roadmap aligned with PenChecks' growth objectives and Revenue priorities.
Develop differentiated positioning, value propositions, messaging frameworks, and go-to-market plans for PenChecks solutions, industries, buyer segments, partners, and channels.
Build PenChecks' presence in the retirement market through targeted campaigns, thought leadership, industry content, public relations, digital channels, events, and strategic partnerships.
Coordinate marketing priorities with Revenue, Sales, Product, Customer Experience, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
Revenue Partnership, Demand Generation, and Sales Enablement
Partner closely with Revenue and Sales leadership to identify priority markets, accounts, audiences, opportunities, and campaigns that support pipeline development and revenue growth.
Plan, launch, and optimize B2B lead-generation, account-based, partner, cross-sell, and client-growth campaigns across paid, owned, earned, digital, email, content, social, and event channels.
Create and maintain sales enablement materials, including presentations, proposals, solution briefs, case studies, campaign assets, client-facing communications, talking points, and other tools that help the Sales team communicate value effectively.
Support lead capture, qualification, routing, nurture, and follow-up processes, and maintain disciplined campaign and prospect data in Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, or related systems.
Use client, prospect, sales, and campaign insights to improve targeting, messaging, content, channel mix, and conversion.
Messaging, Content, and Audience Communications
Develop a strong working understanding of PenChecks' business, services, customers, partners, regulatory environment, and competitive position.
Translate complex retirement, IRA, financial-services, and operational concepts into compelling, audience-appropriate messaging for clients, prospects, partners, advisors, and participants.
Develop and manage an integrated content calendar spanning thought leadership, educational content, email communications, web content, social media, sales materials, industry commentary, product communications, and client or partner updates.
Maintain a consistent brand, voice, and message architecture while adapting content to the needs and knowledge level of each audience.
Partner with Product, Customer Experience, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to ensure communications are accurate, timely, differentiated, and appropriate for a regulated environment.
NextLevel IRA B2C Conversion and Lifecycle Marketing
Bring B2C growth, conversion, and lifecycle expertise to NextLevel IRA while recognizing that the primary opportunity is not a traditional direct-to-consumer acquisition engine.
Develop and execute a measurable strategy to improve the full NextLevel IRA participant journey, including eligibility, awareness, engagement, conversion, application completion, account activation, funding, ongoing engagement, and retention.
Define participant segments, needs, decision journeys, barriers, educational requirements, and value propositions in partnership with cross-functional leaders.
Build campaigns and communications that more effectively convert and engage individuals reached through PenChecks' clients, partners, advisors, and other B2B relationships.
Use funnel data, participant insights, testing, messaging, education, and lifecycle campaigns to identify friction and improve conversion and engagement at each stage.
Events, Digital Presence, and Market Visibility
Lead the marketing strategy and execution for trade shows, conferences, company client events, webinars, and major industry events, including pre-event promotion, attendee targeting, collateral, lead capture, follow-up, and performance measurement.
Oversee PenChecks' website, social media presence, digital content, email marketing, and related external channels in coordination with internal teams and outside partners.
Manage marketing collateral, promotional materials, and event inventory to ensure materials are current, accurate, and aligned with brand and campaign priorities.
Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, contributed content, industry education, partnerships, and other forms of thought leadership that expand PenChecks' visibility and credibility.
Analytics, Performance, and Executive Reporting
Establish marketing KPIs, dashboards, and reporting that connect activity and spending to pipeline, revenue, client engagement, participant behavior, and other business outcomes.
Measure campaign performance, lead generation, conversion, engagement, event results, content effectiveness, channel performance, and return on marketing investment.
For NextLevel IRA, measure and improve conversion across eligibility, engagement, application completion, activation, funding, ongoing engagement, and retention.
Analyze results, communicate insights and attribution limitations, and redirect resources toward the highest-impact opportunities.
Provide the Chief Revenue Officer and senior leadership with concise updates, risks, recommendations, and progress against marketing priorities.
Vendor and Agency Management
Onboard, and manage approved agencies, media partners, consultants, creative resources, event vendors, and specialized marketing providers.
Establish clear scopes, deliverables, timelines, budgets, service expectations, and performance measures for each partner.
Hold vendors accountable for quality, speed, cost, compliance, and measurable business outcomes.
Integrate external workstreams into one coordinated marketing plan and recommend vendor consolidation, replacement, or insourcing when appropriate.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Four or more years of progressive marketing experience, with meaningful responsibility for B2B strategy, positioning, demand generation, content, sales enablement, and campaign execution.
Demonstrated B2C growth, conversion, lifecycle, or customer-journey experience, ideally within a B2B2C, partner-driven, intermediary, or channel-based business model.
Proven ability to learn a complex business and translate technical, operational, retirement, or financial-services concepts into clear and compelling messaging for multiple audiences.
Experience building or materially improving a marketing function, operating model, or capability with limited infrastructure and a high degree of hands-on execution.
Demonstrated success partnering with Revenue and Sales teams to support lead generation, pipeline development, client growth, partner communications, and sales effectiveness.
Experience recommending, engaging, and managing multiple agencies, consultants, and specialized marketing vendors.
Strong knowledge of B2B marketing, segmentation, positioning, content strategy, demand generation, digital marketing, events, lifecycle marketing, conversion optimization, and performance measurement.
Working knowledge of CRM and marketing automation platforms, web and product analytics, conversion tracking, attribution, and experimentation tools.
Excellent business judgment, written and verbal communication, analytical capability, project management, and cross-functional influence skills.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
