POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Breast Imaging Manager, the Mammography Technologist performs mammography examinations to support the diagnosis and treatment of diseases across patients of all ages.

The position includes maintaining radiologic equipment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and working in other areas or modalities as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and maintain radiologic and mammography equipment, ensuring optimal performance and patient safety.
• Communicate with patients to address concerns, explain procedures, and support patient comfort.
• Provide technical supervision and mentorship to staff technologists and students.
• Follow regulatory and safety standards, including applicable state and federal guidelines.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of a two-year, post-high-school training program at an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. REQUIRED
• MSRT/ARRT (Mammography) certification upon hire. REQUIRED
• Valid Massachusetts State Radiology/Mammography License upon hire. REQUIRED
• Knowledge of the principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and mammography. REQUIRED
• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment, including mammography equipment. REQUIRED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Two to three years of experience as a Mammographer, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic radiology and mammography procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of mammography equipment operation and maintenance.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and collaborate with colleagues.
• Ability to provide technical supervision and mentor less experienced staff or students.
• Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.
