Job Summary: Works in Paint plant to produce industrial highway paint as part of an approved Florida Department of Corrections Transition Program for formerly incarcerated PRI inmate workers. Heavy physical work involved in moving paint chemicals and processed paint. Follow all safety rules and wear proper PPE. Work up to 18 months in plant and then move to new job. Follow all requirements stated in signed Agreement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Measure ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.
- Weigh finished products.
- Mix substances to create chemical solutions.
- Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
- Load materials into production equipment.
- Collect samples of materials or products for testing.
- Test chemical or physical characteristics of materials or products.
- Move products, materials, or equipment between work areas.
- Record operational or production data.
- Clean production equipment.
- Maintain production or processing equipment by performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Qualification Requirements: There are six sub-sections, you can use some or all of them.
Education and Experience: Mechanical aptitude and ability, some manufacturing experience helpful.
Communication Skills: Basic verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Technical & Analytical Skills: Basic math Skills.
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills: N/A
Other Skills and Abilities: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, use feet to operator pedals of vehicle; and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud – the dust level is moderate.
