IMSA Transport Driver
Description

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has a long history of success in American motorsport. Our sports car program has earned championship titles and back-to-back class victories at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Today, that experience and ambition continue with RLL Team McLaren in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD PRO class.

We’re hiring an IMSA Transport Driver to support that program at the shop, on the road, and at the track. You’ll be entrusted with our race cars and equipment, responsible for keeping the transporter prepared, and involved in the work that gets the crew ready for each event.

This position suits someone who takes pride in professional driving, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to contribute as part of a racing team. Safe operation, sound judgment, and dependable preparation are central to the role.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You’ll work closely with our fleet and race operations teams throughout the season. Your responsibilities range from preparing and loading the transporter in Zionsville to setting up the paddock and supporting the crew during races and tests.

At the track, you’ll help maintain an organized, properly equipped work environment and assist with equipment and tire operations that support the car. Between events, you’ll prepare the transporter and its contents for the next assignment.

Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Safely transport race cars, equipment, and supplies to races, tests, and other scheduled events.
  • Operate and maintain the transporter in accordance with applicable DOT requirements and RLL procedures, keeping required logs and records current.
  • Check transporter condition and readiness, identify maintenance needs, and promptly report damage, incidents, or unsafe conditions.
  • Load, secure, unload, and organize cars, spare parts, tools, and support equipment.
  • Set up and dismantle garage, tent, and pit areas, working with the crew to meet event schedules.
  • Maintain transporter supplies, consumables, and equipment inventories, keeping trailers and work areas clean and ready for use.
  • Support pit and paddock operations, including monitoring fuel and nitrogen supplies and maintaining pit carts and other support equipment.
  • Assist with wheel inventory, maintenance, and inspection; coordinate assigned tire mounting and dismounting needs; and work with engineering on tire data and TPMS equipment.
  • Support additional transportation assignments and shop errands as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A valid CDL-A license and the vehicle-handling skills to operate a race transporter safely.
  • A clean driving record that meets RLL requirements.
  • At least 21 years of age and the ability to meet DOT physical and drug-screening requirements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and confidence working with tools and support equipment.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
  • Clear communication and a willingness to work alongside mechanics, engineers, and other crew members.
  • Availability for extensive travel and hands-on work in outdoor paddock and garage environments.

Professional commercial-driving experience is valuable. Motorsports or team transport experience is preferred, but we also welcome qualified drivers with relevant experience from other industries.
