Job Overview Summary

The Solutions Developer works with Business Technology Partners to solve business problems with technology by automating processes, building tools and dashboards, and helping Minuteman Security & Life Safety further its use of technology to streamline operations. AI is central to how this role works: the Solutions Developer uses AI-assisted development tools, specifically Cursor and Claude, to design and build tools, automations, integrations, and dashboards faster. This role automates business processes and integrates systems through APIs and scripting, builds internal tools and small applications, and creates dashboards and reports, then monitors and maintains these solutions to keep business processes running. 

What you’ll be doing (and doing well!):

· AI-Assisted Development:

o Use AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor and Claude, to design, build, and test tools, automations, integrations, and dashboards faster.

o Review and test AI-generated code to make sure it is secure, reliable, and meets team standards.

· Process Automation and Integrations:

o Automate business processes across departments using APIs, scripting, and other appropriate tools.

o Develop and support integrations between systems such as Paylocity, ConnectWise PSA, ConnectWise CPQ, and Microsoft 365, building in data mapping, error handling, and retry logic so integrations are reliable.

· Internal Tools and Applications:

o Build, test, and enhance internal tools and small applications that help departments work more efficiently.

o Follow team standards for design, naming, environments, security, and connections.

· Dashboards and Reporting:

o Build and maintain dashboards and reports in reporting tools as needed.

o Help validate data quality and accuracy with business users.

· Partnering with the Business:

o Work with the Business Technology Partners and departments to understand business problems and turn them into technology solutions.

o Refine requirements and incorporate user feedback throughout development.

· Monitoring and Support:

o Monitor automations, integrations, and tools, including the time-entry and Paylocity webhook integrations, and troubleshoot and resolve failures promptly.

o Respond to issues escalated by the Application Support Specialist and the Business Technology Partners.

· Documentation and Change Control:

o Document solutions, including purpose, dependencies, owners, and support procedures.

o Track work and changes in Azure DevOps and follow testing and release procedures.

· Technology Adoption:

o Promote the use of technology across the company by sharing solutions, helping users adopt new tools, and identifying new opportunities to streamline operations.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What we Like about you:

· A Sense of humor, creativity, and positive attitude.

· AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience with, or a strong interest in, AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar.

· Hands-on experience with a scripting or programming language such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.

· Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and system integrations.

· Experience building dashboards and reports with modern reporting tools.

· Working knowledge of SQL and data modeling.

· Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure.

· Experience with Paylocity, ConnectWise PSA, or ConnectWise CPQ is a plus, and we'll train the right person.

· Familiarity with Azure DevOps, source control, or similar tools is a plus.

· Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

· Experience in software development, automation, or related fields.

Pay Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus or commission in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
