Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Project Engineer for a full-time opportunity with a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm in Chicago, Illinois.
This position offers the opportunity to work on transportation and civil engineering projects while contributing to the growth of an expanding transportation portfolio. You'll collaborate with engineers and other technical professionals, support project delivery, and take on meaningful design responsibilities.
We're looking for someone who brings strong civil engineering fundamentals, hands-on AutoCAD Civil 3D experience, and the ability to independently develop plan sets with limited supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Support Civil Engineering And Transportation Projects From Concept Planning Through Design And Documentation
• Develop Roadway, Intersection, Sidewalk, And Corridor Designs
• Prepare Civil Engineering Plans, Construction Specifications, And Technical Details
• Perform Stormwater Management And Detention Design
• Complete Hydrology And Hydraulics Modeling
• Design Storm Sewer Systems And Underground Utility Layouts
• Develop Grading, Earthwork, And Site Geometry Plans
• Prepare Quantity Takeoffs And Engineering Reports
• Support Transportation Planning And Corridor Development
• Prepare Complete Engineering Plan Sets With Limited Supervision
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D For Engineering Design And Documentation
• Support Project Budget And Schedule Management
• Manage Multiple Projects And Competing Priorities
• Collaborate With Internal Teams And Project Stakeholders
• Lead Meetings And Communicate Project Progress And Technical Recommendations
COMPENSATION
• Annual Salary: $80,000-$110,000

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree In Civil Engineering Or A Related Field REQUIRED
• At Least 4 Years Of Civil Engineering Experience REQUIRED
• Proficiency In AutoCAD Civil 3D REQUIRED
• Strong Transportation Engineering And Roadway Design Experience REQUIRED
• Ability To Independently Prepare Engineering Plan Sets With Limited Supervision REQUIRED
• Strong Understanding Of Civil Engineering Methods, Design Tools, And Technical Processes REQUIRED
• Experience Working With Federally Funded Projects REQUIRED
• Excellent Project And Time Management Skills REQUIRED
• Ability To Manage Multiple Long-Term Projects And Immediate Tasks Concurrently REQUIRED
• Ability To Confidently Lead Meetings REQUIRED
• Strong Collaboration Skills And Ability To Work Independently REQUIRED
• Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, Dynamic Environment REQUIRED
Preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Approximately 4-8 Years Of Civil Engineering Experience
• Experience With Stormwater Management, Detention Design, And Hydrology / Hydraulics Modeling
• Experience With Roadway, Intersection, Sidewalk, And Corridor Design
• Experience Supporting Project Budgets And Schedules
