Description

The Engineering Project Manager at Hyper Solutions plays a key role in coordinating engineering execution for Integrated Modular Systems (IMS) and Prefabricated Power Module (PPM) projects. This position supports complex, multidisciplinary engineering activities from initial requirements and design development through manufacturing, integration, testing, and final project turnover.

Working closely with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, Test Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Applications Engineering, and external partners, the Engineering Project Manager ensures engineering deliverables, schedules, and technical dependencies remain aligned with project and customer commitments.

This position is well-suited for an experienced engineering project management professional who enjoys coordinating complex technical projects, solving problems, and driving cross-functional execution. The role is responsible for coordinating engineering activities and driving technical issues to resolution, while technical design decisions remain with the responsible engineers and discipline managers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering execution for assigned IMS and PPM projects from kickoff through manufacturing, testing, and final turnover
  • Develop and maintain engineering schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical-path activities
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, controls, testing, sustaining, manufacturing, supply chain, and external partners
  • Translate customer and project requirements into defined engineering deliverables and track the release of drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate system interfaces between Hyper-designed and third-party equipment to ensure integration requirements are identified and resolved
  • Lead engineering design and readiness reviews, document decisions, and track assigned actions through completion
  • Coordinate engineering readiness for manufacturing, subsystem testing, integrated factory acceptance testing, design verification, and customer witness testing
  • Identify and manage technical risks, engineering changes, supplier dependencies, and potential schedule impacts
  • Provide regular project updates to Engineering leadership and stakeholders regarding milestones, risks, open decisions, and resource requirements

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical requirements, documentation, configurations, and support needs with equipment suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Partner with Test Engineering to prepare for testing activities and track deficiencies through correction and retesting
  • Collaborate with Applications Engineering, Sales, and Operations to resolve customer requirement gaps and align project schedules
  • Support manufacturing partners, factory testing, system integration, and project site activities as needed
  • Coordinate recurring released-product issues with Sustaining Engineering while maintaining visibility through resolution
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering project coordination and execution processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience supporting complex engineered products, integrated systems, or mission-critical infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional engineering projects and coordinating multiple technical disciplines
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, system integration, validation, commissioning, or production launches of complex equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, mechanical drawings, BOMs, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Strong project planning, risk management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and drive assigned actions through completion
  • Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools, Microsoft Office, ERP and PLM/PDM systems, and digital drawing review tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and project teams across multiple time zones
  • Ability to travel as needed to support manufacturing, testing, integration, and project site activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting mission-critical or data center power infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment including switchboards, switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, static transfer systems, generators, or automatic transfer systems
  • Experience with modular or prefabricated electrical systems, e-houses, skids, or similar integrated solutions
  • Experience coordinating Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Design Verification Testing (DVT), Factory Witness Testing (FWT), commissioning, or integrated systems testing
  • Familiarity with UL, NFPA, NEC, IEC, or related electrical standards
  • Experience coordinating OEM equipment suppliers, firmware requirements, and equipment configurations
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management experience
  • Experience with formal engineering change control processes

What Success Looks Like

  • Engineering milestones and deliverables remain aligned with manufacturing schedules and customer commitments
  • Cross-functional engineering teams have clear ownership of tasks, dependencies, and technical deliverables
  • System integration requirements and technical issues are identified and addressed before manufacturing and testing
  • Engineering documentation and design releases are coordinated accurately and on schedule
  • Technical risks, supplier dependencies, and project constraints are communicated and managed proactively
  • Manufacturing, testing, and final project turnover activities proceed with clear coordination and minimal avoidable delays
